| "The Desert Prince" Quatre is the most kind-hearted of all the Gundam pilots. He has a deep love of peace and a desire to protect his family and the other innocents of the Earth Sphere, and blames himself for many things, carrying much guilt for his part in the war. He believes that fighting is necessary to protect the people, though, and although he is not the best of the pilots, he helps organize them with his leadership skills. |
| Relationships: Quatre's closest friend among the Gundam pilots is Trowa, who doubles as his romantic partner in Yaoi interpretations. He is also close with Duo and Heero. His traditional romantic match is Dorothy, although alternate characters often replace Dorothy in fanfictions because many people disagree with the match. Quatre becomes friends with Lucrezia Noin, and supports Relena in her quest for pacifism. His mother died in childbirth, and he is the only character with living family when the show begins, with a father and 29 older sisters. The 40 Maguanac Corp. soldiers are devoted to him and make up his own personal army. |
| Background: Quatre's family owns the huge Winner Corporation, which runs numerous resource satellites and is a symbol of colonial unity among the people. Quatre was the only child of 30 to be born naturally, costing his mother her life. His father never told him the story of his birth, and let Quatre believe he was a test-tube baby like his sisters. As a result, for most of his life, Quatre had no self respect or love for anything, and thought of himself as something created by his father to be the heir of the Winner Corporation. When he met the Maguanac Corp. and assisted them on a mission (in the Episode Zero manga), he realized that it didn't matter how he was born, just what he did with his life. His father, a believer in pacifism, gave refuge to Instructor H, a Gundam engineer who was running from the Alliance. When Instructor H built the Gundam Sandrock, Quatre agreed to be trained as its pilot. |
