Sister Helen whispers the Lord's Prayer: "May God... bless you and... keep... you..." and then passes away. Duo cries out in anguish -- the only two people who ever showed any care for him have been killed by the Federation. In the next page Duo, older now, is sitting on the floor of a prison cell. One of the guards says, "Hey, did you know, he's a survivor of the Maxwell Church Tragedy?" and the other replies, "Really? He must have made some deal with Shinigami [the God of Death], hm?" Later, he is found as a stowaway on a salvage ship captained by Professor G. When he tells Professor G his name, the Professor says, "Maxwell...? Ha ha... Maxwell's little demon, hm?" Duo replies, "Not a demon...
