Jason stood on the balcony outside his room in the darkness and the pelting rain, staring unblinkingly into the wind-whipped night. The cold stones steamed under his feet as the rain streaked down from the black night sky. He shivered as a sudden gust of wind whipped his hair into his eyes. He wrapped his arms around his soaked body, listening to the rain. The cold drops pricked his skin like dull knives as he stood.

As the water ran down his face and blurred his vision, Jason moved to the edge of the balcony, and gripped the railing so tightly that his fingers ached.  Then, as he let the rain soak through his senses, he could hear something in the distance.  A thin melody… it sounded like music.
