| Spock closed his eyes briefly before opening them. 'This will be hard; this will test both of our limits both human and vulcan. And I know which one will win...' "Are you ready to start?" he said, remarking at the calmness of his voice. T'Loki flinched slightly before nodding. "Yes," she said with the same calm and shrugged on her white meditation robe over her uniform as Spock did the same with his black one. Both sat cross legged on the floor two feet from each other and closed their eyes, breathing in sync, minds sinking into pure logic. After an hour, Spock mentally nodded. 'I know what I have to do...it's just...' "Kahs'Kihori," he said softly, using the nickname he had for for. The same one that he'd called her since her early days in the acadamy and the same one he'd called her in the heat of passion. T'Loki opened her eyes, staring at him with an curious gaze. "Yes, Spock?" Standing, the older vulcan put his hands behind his back and walked to admire a sketching of horses that she did mounted on the wall. 'She had incredible talent,' he thought fleetingly before sighing. "I do not want you to think that I regret my choice last night because I do not. I did...enjoy...myself. We are something of outcasts on Vulcan itself and I think the only place that we consider home is Starfleet." His student stood, her hands in front of her. "This is true," she said, meeting his gaze with a hint of sadness. "And I understand. We've both chosen to be Vulcans in the traditional sense of the word. But we still have...human desires...needs, wants. It is not a war, it's a harmony, a balance between emotion and logic. On duty, logic reigns supreme but in private..." Spock circled T'Loki like a shark until he was standing behind her and placed his hands on her shoulders. "Is another matter." He could feel his student shiver beneith his fingertips and resisted the urge to pull her closer to his body. 'You still must have control,' he reminded himself. "What are...you trying to say?" she whispered softly. "I...I can not say exactly but...I can show you," he said just as softly and brushed her hair back from the Katra mind meld points on her face and placed the tips of his fingers there. Spock could feel T'Loki let him into her mind freely but he mission wasn't exploration, it was explination. His thoughts streamed through his fingers; his past of outcast and turmoil, his present of warm friendships with Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy, tiny bits of random data like how he fell in the mountains when he was four and did not cry, his passion, both vulcan and human, strong, thick, and heavy for his student that he had lightly in his grip. But her feelings traveled back to him too; how she saw him, her passion for drawing and the stars, the passion for him that pulled her in three different directions, human, vulcan, and wolf. Next |
