The place was small, but comfortable having five rooms and working water. The furniture was made of wood and other natural things that looked like they could be found on where ever we were and a fire burned in the stone fireplace. Sitting down at a wooden table, my grandfather leaned his staff against the wall. "Come, sit you two. You must be tired from your journey and I saw you land pretty hard out of that portal," my elder said with a small smirk that lit up his golden eyes.

"I'll say. That hurt my muzzle, man," Will said, sitting across from him. I sat next to Will and folded my wings in. I could only sense calmness coming from my grandfather but also a hint of sadness. 'Great, what's going to happen next?' I wondered.

"Grandfather? Why are we here? What is this place?" I asked, turning my ears forward. My grandfather sighed, looking through the strands of his shoulder-length, raven black hair. "Why you are here is a matter of events. Events that took place before even I, Sleeping Panther, was born," he replied softly and began his tale.

"Long ago, our people were all one tribe. But we split up, looking for new ways of life in different areas. One thing remained with us though: a tale of two creatures, with wings like lighting and power that could change even the weather itself. They were the children of Father Sky and normally took the form of a wolf but could change into humans as they wished. These two protected us, defended us for ages. When one died, the other did and so two more children were chosen to be guardians. Roughly translated, your name means 'Guardian of the Sky' or 'WolfAngels'. The two children chosen would have these powers hidden until they were needed and then they would take their place, guarding and protecting.

"But sadly, things changed. Men from across the water came to our land. The WolfAngels warned us they would be nothing but trouble but we decided not to listen. Because of that, we lost our land and our way of life and our guardians. But something as arisen again. You two have been chosen to defend another world. The place where you stand now is called Nivta, home to many exotic creatures and on a different dimension. But it is under attack by an evil being called Sayt. If he wins, he and his army of demons will destroy this world and yours. You are our only hope, understand this. I need to know whether you'll stay and fight. You must make your choice."

One black and one white Wolf Angel looked at each other. I knew that what Sleeping Panther said was true. Will was looking like he'd rather walk through the bowels of hell than fight an army of demons than agree but either way, there were going to be demons. Sighing, I turned to my grandfather and nod.

"I accept my challenge," I answer, cocking my ears forward and my fur bristling. "I'll go as well. We're in this together, Tasha," Will replied, seriously.

For the first time in awhile, my grandfather smiled, truly smiled. "Welcome to Nivta."
