Warning: Violence. It's very brief but it's the focus of the chapter.

I was a black wolf the size of a pony and fangs half a foot long that were tucked securely into my mouth. My coat was long and in layers but it hung off in waves, glinting the light of the morning sun off of it. My eyes were the same gold as they were in the WolfAngel morph but they were darker, like tree sap amber instead of the normal honey color. I heard a voice call out and I turned.

'Human. Male. Older. No threat.' The thoughts floated up in an orderly process. It was as if my actual self was just in a small corner while the wolf ruled my mind. A low yip from the other side of the clearing caught my attention and I turned in the opposite direction.

Another wolf stood there. Male and bigger than me with a white coat and silver eyes. His tail stood straight up as a sign of dominance and he growled, daring me to challenge him.

'This is not my Alpha. I do not acknowledge him as my Alpha. I am my own Alpha.' I put my own tail up, telling him that I wouldn't be dominated. The other wolf growled, telling me that I had only one more chance to back down before things would get serious. I growled in return, louder than the male, letting him know that I'd heard him loud and clear but I wasn't taking him up on his offer.

The white wolf lowered his posture and slinked in a wide arc towards me. I did the same, knowing that he was stalking me and I felt more of myself huddle in the small corner that I was now in. With a flash, the male leaped, claws outstretched and I ducked but not in time. Across my back, he'd sliced six deep cuts that spilled crimson blood across my fur to drip on the grass I stood on.

'He has spilled my blood. He must never do it again.' Un-tucking from my roll, I flew at him, mouth open in a strike meant to tear out his throat. The male looked up and laid himself flat, allowing me to sail over him but not quite. I bowed my neck and took out the top of his shoulder, teeth slicing through fur and flesh. A pain filled howl traveled to my ears and my heart beat in apprehension.

'The kill is near.'

The white wolf stood, baring his fangs, red rivers of blood staining his pristine white coat. I bared mine and at the same time, we dove for each other, teeth and claws slashing. I felt the hum of air as paws connected, the sickening wet sound as blows hit home, the strong metallic taste of blood in my mouth that pushed me harder to win. Suddenly, the male made a mistake, raising on his rear legs and planning to smash my spine with his nearly foot wide paws. I ducked the blow and slid underneath him, throwing my weight forward and in turn, pinning him. My jaws hung over his throat, salvia mingled with blood dripping from my teeth, my eyes searched and found what I was looking for in the male's eyes: fear.

'You have won, no one is dominate to you. You are the Alpha. Kill him.' The wolf's thoughts flashed in my mind in an instant and I drew back to strike...

'No! You can't! It's Will! He's my friend!' the part of me in the corner cried out.

'Friends do not matter. Not being hurt matters. This male can hurt me.'

'I don't care! Don't kill him!'

'You can not stop me.' The wolf adjusted her weight, to keep the struggling Will from moving. Her eyes set sight on the big pulse in his neck that throbbed like a caught rabbit. 'I have won...'

'Like hell you have!' I screamed and ran forward in my mind, embracing the wolf that could have killed both of us in an instant.
