Third Place - Angst

Chapter Thirty-One

Harry finished his day of classes with little fan fare. The rest of the student body seemed to be wary of him but his ludicrous outburst seemed to have shown most of them how silly they had been behaving. He actually got a few smiles and a couple of, "Good one, Harry". As for his best friends, they had successfully avoided him. Harry felt awful about the way he had reacted and treated them. As everyone was going into dinner he caught up to them and held out the bag that Snape had given him. Ron and Hermione both eyed it and him suspiciously. Harry unwrapped it, pulled out a Chocoball, held it up dramatically and placed it in his mouth.

"There. Now, will you talk to me?" Harry asked after swallowing the treat down.

Hermione sighed. "Yes, of course, Harry."

"We just didn't want to upset you anymore, mate," Ron added. Harry smiled.

"Thanks. And, I'm sorry. I'm going to have to have those words tattooed on my forehead, I imagine," he joked.

Both his friends smiled. "Well, I suppose if you have an emergency stash of sweets, you should be less volatile. Will you be sitting with us?" Hermione asked.

"If that's alright?" Harry made an X on his chest. "I promise not to throw food, kick or bite anyone." Ron and Hermione laughed.

"Alright, then drama queen, you may sit with us," Hermione said through her laughter. Harry smiled big and they walked in to the Great Hall together. The Gryffindors gave him a tepid welcome but at least there was no scooting away from him or fearful looks.

After their plates were half eaten Harry decided to bring up something that had greatly bothered him all day.

"I saw Professor Lupin today," he said. His friends looked up in surprise.

"You did?"

"Really?"

"Yeah," Harry sighed. "But it didn't go well. As soon as I gave him a hug, I got this overwhelming feeling to run and get away from him. Like he was bad, or something. Then Draco and Snape were there and started snarling and telling him to go. Remus said that he would try and visit again in a few months, but Draco was not happy with that idea. I don't think Snape was either but that's nothing new." Harry looked at Hermione specifically. "Why would I think Remus was bad?"

"That's fascinating, Harry," she said, the light of academia in her eyes. "I just read yesterday morning that Indago and werewolves are natural enemies. It started with the Dagodines, of course, but it is just as true for Indago now. They were competitors in the wild."

"So, I can never see Remus again?" Harry asked in horror. He anxiously reached for his bundle of sweets.

"Well, not necessarily. If it were the full moon, then I would stay away, of course. But at other times it shouldn't be too horrible. You'd just have to ignore those instincts. I imagine that Professor Lupin knew you were not able to handle that right now though and that was why he suggested in a few months."

"Why can't he handle it now?" Ron asked.

"Because of the newness of it all, I imagine," Hermione answered. Harry nodded. That did make sense and it gave him hope that he would still be able to see and speak to his friend.

Suddenly Harry was burning up. He began pulling at the collar of his robes.

"Harry, you alright?" Ron asked worriedly.

"I'm hot!" Harry kept working at the button of his robes until they were completely undone. Hermione offered him a glass of water, which he drank down in three gulps.

"Have a bit of the candy," Hermione urged. Harry fumbled for his bundle of sweets. He tugged too hard and the bag exploded open, spraying candy all around. Harry thought he'd cry he was so frustrated.

"It's alright," Ron soothed as he started gathering it all. "We'll get it fixed. Just pop a couple of chocolates in your mouth, yeah?"

Harry nodded and grabbed two pieces that had fallen into his mashed potatoes. He quickly chewed and swallowed while fanning himself. It was as if the sun were resting right above him! He began unbuttoning his shirt.

"Harry!" Hermione called to him, pulling him out of his thoughts. "I assure you that you do not want to do that!"

Harry looked down and saw that his shirt was halfway undone. Blushing he began re-buttoning it. Ron had finished putting the candies back in their pouch and poured Harry another drink of water.

"Here, mate," he said, offering it to Harry. Harry smiled and again drank the glass dry. Then he ate two more candies. Finally, he started to feel a bit better.

"Sorry," he mumbled.

"Harry, stop apologizing." Hermione's voice was sharp. "You are behaving completely naturally. You have nothing to apologize for!"

"Yes, Hermione," Harry said. He finished buttoning his robe back up. Many students were finishing their meals and heading back to their dorms. Harry looked to the Slytherin table and saw that Draco was already on his way over to get him.

"Harry, it's fine. Besides, this thing will be over soon, yeah? Then you only have to worry about it once a year," Ron said encouragingly. Harry, though, balked at the thought of having to go through this again in just twelve months.

"Ron, I am getting a zipper for your mouth," Hermione hissed. Ron flushed and mumbled his own apology.

"Did you eat all your vegetables and fruits like a good little Gryffindor?" came a familiar drawl. Harry looked up at Draco.

"Yes, I did, actually."

"Good, then let's go. I'm worn out. I really hate Mondays," Draco grabbed Harry's arm and pulled him to a standing position. Harry stepped over the bench, grabbed his bag of candies and smiled at his friends.

"Yeah, this day hasn't been much fun. I'll see you guys tomorrow."

"Night, Harry," Ron called, casting a glower at Draco.

"Good night. See you tomorrow," Hermione called out. Harry let Draco pull him through the Great Hall doors and then followed him to his room.

Once inside Draco immediately began stripping his clothes off and headed for the shower. Harry made for the bit of fudge left over. The sound of water accompanied Harry as he fetched his homework assignments from his bag. Seeing only the one desk covered in Draco's things, Harry set himself up in bed. He opened his History of Magic book and began to read. Before the shower turned off Harry was asleep.

Hot. He was hot again. Harry began pulling at his clothing. He opened his eyes in the semi-darkness trying to get his shirt off of him. But it wasn't enough. He was panting as he pulled at his shoes and socks. They hit the floor with a thud. Then he went after his trousers. Dimly Harry thought of the bag of candy. He knew it was about somewhere. He quietly climbed out of the bed, shoving his school things out of the way as he looked for the candies. It wasn't on the bed. He must have set it on the table. Harry stumbled across the moonlight stained floor towards the table. It was only a few feet away when he knew that that wasn't what he wanted. No, he wanted something else. It was scent that drove him to the other side of the room. There, there was what he wanted. Lying on the chaise lounge. Blond hair spilling over the blanket covering his body. Harry padded towards the sleeping Draco and pulled the blanket off. The blonde mumbled but stayed still. Draco only wore a pair of purple flannel pajama bottoms leaving his chest bare to Harry's hungry eyes.

Harry went down on his knees to get closer to his desire. Draco's chest was broad and muscular. The strength in his shoulders was evident to Harry's appreciative gaze. His eyes trailed down to what he truly wanted. He placed his hand on Draco's groin and began rubbing it through the flannel. It sprang to life quickly and Harry could not be more delighted. He quickly started pulling at the pajamas so that he could get closer.

"Hey..." a sleepy voice mumbled and a hand came down to grab at Harry's. Harry leaned to it and bit at the wrist. He licked at it and kept tugging on the clothing.

"Harry?" Draco's voice was clearer now and Harry felt him rise up. Then hands trailed through his hair and Harry smiled. "Gods, you smell good," Draco whispered as he put his feet down on either side of the chaise.

Harry crawled up and knelt between Draco's spread thighs and began licking at the smooth chest. Draco made a noise deep in the back of his throat and quickly grabbed Harry and turned him around until he straddled the chaise lounge in the opposite direction and nestled between the blonde's legs. Harry ground his buttocks into Draco's erection in a sign of impatience that the blonde took as a challenge. Faster than Harry could draw breath, Draco had pulled his own pajamas down to mid-thigh and had pushed Harry chest first into the furniture. Harry felt fingers at his entrance and they slid right in with no resistance what so ever.

"Merlin, do I love nature," Draco rasped as he pulled Harry's thighs until they were flush with his own. Then he sunk himself deep into Harry's body. Harry cried out at the force of the thrusts. They were exactly what he had wanted. He pushed back as hard as Draco gave, the sound of flesh on flesh began to fill the room. Before they had time to truly work up a sweat Draco groaned and Harry felt warmth fill him. It never felt so good, so right. Draco suddenly pulled Harry up until the brunette rested against his chest. He nibbled and licked at Harry's neck. Lying back, he took Harry with him and they fell back to sleep with Harry being held in his Supero's arms.
