Third Place - Action/Adventure

Chapter Four

Harry looked up at the calendar with a sigh, tomorrow he would be leaving his fathers for the first time. His other education had been dealt with by private tutors and both his Pa and his Da taught him everything they knew, or when he was younger he went to a private school during the day... but he still returned home each evening, it would be hard to leave them now. He couldnt understand why he had to go, and why they couldnt just find a wizard to teach them everything...Blaise even. But he had to admit that he needed to learn how to live with others, he had to learn all he could about other species, especially if he was supposed to do something that would eventually bring changes to all three worlds.

He had spent the last three weeks constantly reading in between hunting and weapons practice and had managed to read over all of his books, he had a much better grasp on the way of the Wizarding folk now anyway, he knew what to expect when he got to Hogwarts. He knew of the four houses, the traits and he could already guess which one he would be placed in. His fathers had both had their noses buried in the book called Hogwarts: A History and they must have read it five times from front to back but they said they didnt want to miss anything.

Harry grinned

It looked like they would be missing him too, which was good because it wasnt fair for him to be the only one. They had better miss him fucking loads so that they came to visit often. He smiled at that and then picked up Shack, his Boa constrictor, and ran two gentle fingers down his length. The snake had barely left his side since he had returned to the manor. At least when he went to this mortal school, he would have Blaise and Shack for when he wanted some decent conversation... and Blaise was handy with a sword so he could keep up his practice each morning.

Perhaps it wouldnt be as bad as he had thought.

He threw the last of his books in the magical trunk and then slammed it shut, he was going to spend the entire day with his fathers whether they liked it or not. He grinned again and he wrapped his weapons belt around his waist and checked all of his weapons were there before he slipped out of the room.

He found Ivan and Dante in the living room... unsurprisingly they were both still reading Hogwarts: A History. Harry rolled his eyes and snatched the books from their hands, slamming them shut as he did so. He ignored their protests as he literally threw the two books to the other side of the room and then he put his hands on his hips and glared at them forcefully.

"I am leaving tomorrow and I wont see you again until Christmas. Youre not going to fucking sit in here and read all day, get your arse up and ready, were all going out," he said firmly and pointedly ignored the amused look the two vampires sent his way. "Go on, get moving, we havent got all day you know," he snapped again and then grinned as they quickly exited the room. Good.

He would get them to take him somewhere where they could be alone without worrying about attack and then they could practice with weapons, fight together and then perhaps talk. He loved fighting with his two dads, it gave him a sense of freedom that wasnt to be found anywhere else, and they were both the best when it came to sword fighting. He smiled in satisfaction as he sat in the chair his Pa had just vacated while he waited for him, it proved to be an extremely fun day.

"If you get into any trouble whatsoever then I want you to call us... actually just call us as soon as you get there anyway, well come and see you get settled in without any problems. You do know how to call us right?" his Pa asked and Harry rolled his eyes before nodding and he pointed to his throat

"Just rub blood on that and youll jump right to my side, I know, I know," he said again for what must have been the hundredth time that day. He sat down at the breakfast table and looked at his two fathers carefully, the previous day had been fantastic and he had loved every minute of it. It had just been him, his Pa and his Da... no guards, no assassination attempts... no one and they had spent most of the day fighting.

"Good. Har, if you really dont like it then call us and well come and pick you up, well just have to find a wizard who can teach you everything personally, it shouldnt be too hard. I dont want you to stay there if you dont want too..." Ivan said seriously and Harry grinned at him, that had certainly made his day. He nodded as he pulled his goblet of blood closer and yawned loudly, there was barely an hour before he had to be on that stupid train.

"Remember to wear at least two weapons every single day, keep up with your training and write to us. Youll know whether anything happens to us because of the mark, but there is nothing to worry about, well both be fine here and missing you terribly," Dante said again and Harry sat back in amusement as he looked from his Pa to his Da and back again.

"Everything will be fine. Really, there is no need to worry. I can take care of myself and Blaise will be there with me, and if that doesnt help then its easy to call you. Besides, its a school, what can go wrong there? Its supposedly the safest place in the world," he assured them with a grin. "Youre fucking loosing it,"

"Were gonna miss you kid," Ivan said with a sigh and Harry laughed again

"Good, you bloody well should. But do remember Ill be seeing you tonight anyway," he said as he necked back the blood and closed his eyes to savour the taste before he stood up again. "I have to get dressed; Ill see you down by the doors in a few minutes,"

He picked out his 200 jet black tight fitted jeans that had bleached streaks and an eagle print over the back pockets as well as his 150 black shirt with a thick grey stripe the went from top to bottom that faded into the black with white printed scribbles on it. He pulled his red Corvus robes over the top and then wrapped his weapon belt around his waist.

He strapped his daggers to either wrist and another to his left ankle and he strapped his desert eagle gun to his right ankle and then pushed his trouser legs over the top of it. Shack wrapped himself around Harrys chest and rested his head on his shoulder and his eagle, Rowan, landed on his other shoulder. He looked around the room one last time, checked his wand was still in his belt and then he grabbed his trunk and picked it up.

Time to go

He kicked the door open and blinked as the trunk was taken out of his hands; he looked and saw his uncle Noel was stood waiting for him with Cerelias and Maeryn. He smiled his thanks to his uncle and grinned at his two aunts.

"Youre coming too?" he asked as he slipped his hand into his Aunt Cereliass and allowed himself to be tugged down the hall.

"Of course! You didnt really think you would be able to slip away without us noticing now did you?" Cerelias asked in mock horror and Harry rolled his eyes

"Not bloody likely, nothing goes on in here without your knowing," he mumbled irritably as his Aunt Maeryn stroked Rowan. They met the guards, Blaise and his two fathers in the entrance hall and then spent a minute to get into position once more. Three guards took the lead, then there was Blaise, then Cerelias, then Harry in between

his two fathers with two guards either side, then Noel and Maeryn and finally three more guards at the rear.

---------

They arrived at Kingscross station and the guards led the way to where platform nine and ten was and then they all stood, looking around for the so-called platform in the middle. They were not visible to muggle eyes but witches and wizards could see them clearly, Blaise stepped forward and pointed to a barrier that sat in the middle of platform nine.

"You just have to run through that, little master."

"You want me to run through a fucking wall?" Harry asked blankly as he stared at the vampire as if he was an idiot. His Pa snickered beside him as his Aunt Cerelias smacked him across the back of his head.

"What have I told you about using that language?" she asked with a glare and Harry rolled his eyes before smiling at her sweetly.

"You also said to listen carefully to what my fathers could teach me. I have, very carefully; you are contradicting yourself my beautiful lady," he replied and then watched with fascination as his Da motioned for the three guards to go through the wall. He blinked and then just stared as they disappeared and then pointedly ignored the smug grin Blaise was sending his way as his aunt followed the guards.

When it came to his turn, he went with his two fathers at the same time and they came out on platform nine and three quarters. Harry looked around curiously, ignoring the stares and whispers from the witches and wizards around them. The guards quickly moved back into position, surrounding them as everyone else came through and then Harry looked at the clock; he had five minutes before the train left.

"Are you sure I cant just jump there tonight? Theyll never know I didnt catch the train as long as I make sure to mix in with the mortals before they get to the castle..." he asked as he kept his expression impassive.

"No, you are going to go on the train like instructed. Come here and give me a kiss," Cerelias said firmly and Harry grinned as he stepped into her arms and pressed a kiss to her cheek. "Now you will be a good boy wont you Harry? Try to go a day without getting into trouble..."

"Im always good! Its everyone else that isnt!" Harry said indignantly as she tightened her arms around him and hugged him closely. He listened as his Da instructed two of the guards to go and inspect the train and make sure there were no nasty surprises there. He was swept from Cereliass arms and into his Aunt Maeryn and Uncle Noels embrace. The mortals were still all staring but he paid no attention to them as he was finally turned over to his fathers and he launched himself in their arms before they could say anything.

"You better bloody miss me, old men. Ill see you tonight, dont forget to keep practicing so that when I kick your ass at Christmas, Ill know its because Im better and not because youre fat...well, fatter."

"Yeah... we love you too," Ivan replied dryly as he picked Harry up with ease and pressed his lips against his sons forehead. "Go, youll miss the train. Dont forget to call us as soon as you get there, keep your weapons and call if there are any problems!"

"Your trunk is already in an empty compartment, see you at Christmas little shit!" uncle Noel shouted and Harry grinned and sent a wave over his shoulder before he turned back to the train. He kept his face impassive and didnt spare a look to the mortals as Blaise led him through the narrow passage and into the empty compartment. He stood at the window and watched his family wave but he didnt smile or wave back and instead just stared.

It would be hard

His Pa put his hand on the glass window and Harry put his over it when the train started moving, his eyes locked with his fathers. He offered a small smile and then watched until the station disappeared from view.

"It wont be that bad, little master. Im sure youll find yourself enjoying your time at Hogwarts when things get settled down, its interesting," Blaise offered reassuringly when Harry turned and sat back down. He looked over at the older vampire and smirked as he saw an eleven year looking back at him.

"I am rather looking forward to it," he replied with a smile. Blaise nodded and then looked at him cautiously

"Have you read up on this world, my lord?" he asked and hesitated after Harry had nodded, "Then you will have read that your name is rather well known...?" he asked and Harry looked at him blankly before he smiled

"I did come across my name once or twice yes; apparently they regard me as some sort of saviour because I didnt die. Its not really a sore subject Blaise; you dont need to worry about pissing me off." He said and smirked when the elder vampire relaxed and rolled his eyes.

"I just wanted to make sure you knew the story behind it, every other mortal wizard knows of it and it wouldnt be fair to send you to Hogwarts without knowing," he said with a shrug. Harry nodded again and turned his attention to the window, watching as they passed fields and farms.

"How many guards are there?" he asked eventually, not bothering to turn away from the window as he spoke.

"Four, you fathers wanted more but your aunt pointed out that you could take care of yourself if needed. I have been instructed to carry on with your sparring lessons each morning," Blaise replied softly and Harry finally looked at him to see he was looking through his trunk for something. A knock at the door caught his attention and Harry was about to stand and open it when Blaise did for him, one of the guards that were to stand outside the door popped his head around.

"Forgive me little master but there is a mortal child here who asks if she can join you. Apparently everywhere else is full," he said and Harry quirked an eyebrow but he nodded anyway. He watched as the girl stepped into the room nervously and studied her carefully, she was no older than he was so that must mean she was just starting here too. She was already wearing her Hogwarts robes and she had bushy brown hair.

"Thank you," she said softly as she sat in the corner, away from them both. Harry nodded and turned his attention back to the window but he could feel her eyes on him almost immediately.

"Little master, do you mind if I step out to use the bathroom? Will you be okay?" Blaise asked before Harry could say anything, he nodded and rolled his eyes as his friend stopped in front of the girl and held out his hand. "Wand please, I cant leave you alone with the master while you are armed..."

"Leave her Blaise, bloody hell I think I can handle myself here if she does decide to attack... which I doubt very much. Go take a piss already," he said with exasperation and then laughed at the sheepish grin the vampire sent his way before slipping out of the room. The girl was openly staring at him now and he returned her stare impassively.

"Youre a vampire arent you?" she blurted out eventually and Harry smirked

"It would seem so yes,"

"Oh! Im sorry; I didnt mean to be rude. Its just that Im muggleborn and I didnt know vampires even existed until I read about them in a book. Why does he call you master?" she asked curiously, seemingly satisfied that Harry wasnt going to bite into her neck and drain her dry.

"Because he works for my father... I am, obviously, well guarded" he replied casually, well she didnt appear to be quite as obnoxious as that fool boy he had seen when getting his robes. He turned the conversation to Hogwarts as Blaise re-entered the compartment and was pleased when the girl began to talk enthusiastically about what she had read.

No, perhaps it wouldnt be as bad as he had thought...
