Fae opens a gateway and you find yourself in a dark world. The moon is shining bright in the sky, combind with the light from the stars, you can make out a small path before you, leading to a valley. You start down the path, taking your time. The leaves, you notice, are begining to change. Half of the tree's leaves became lighter, the other half become darker and darker untill they are almost a black color. As the leaves grew darker and lighter, the bark grew lighter. Soon, the trees had taken on a bright silver color. Bright pinpricks of light shine on the leaves like billions of fireflies resting on the leaves. Moving closer, you see that the pinpricks of light are little spots that seem to glow. Running your fingers over one, you find that the light is coming from the leaves, not any insects. Moving back to the path, you contiune on your journey. You feel a sence of calm come over you, and you relax as you walk. The moon shines cooly down upon you, lighting the way. You soon come to a large clearing in the trees, that dipped slightly in the middle. You study the surroundings. You look around, the light being much brighter now that you are surrounded by the trees. You notice a small sign proped up on the base of a tree. You place yourself infront of the sign and sit down. Silver colored letters cover the dark wood. As you gaze at the letters, you realize that it is a poem. Your eyes begin to move on their own accord, reading the short poem.

You are woken by a noise that was getting louder.... After a about a week of caring for the big egg, it was time for the hatching. Deborah and Skye were sitting with their precious egg, waiting for it to hatch, when they heard a knock on one of the trees surrounding the clearing.. Deborah went to the edge of the clearing and found Raven and her bondmate BrightStar, the leaders of Silver Valley. "Hi! I guess your egg is about to hatch. Can I come in?" Raven asked. "Sure Raven! Come on in! Hey BrightStar! Glad you both came!" Deborah said with a grin and lead them into the clearing. They stood for a while chatting. "I think that this clutch will be very intresting, with the thought of Shadow Warriors. I wonder how many of you will get one," Raven askes. Deborah, Skye, Raven and BrightStar went to the nest to check on the egg, but all they saw was eggshells, but no dragon! "Wow! This dragon sure had energy!" Raven approached the empty egg. "Don't worry, it's around here somewhere." Deborah heard a small sound from the corner. There with shiny eyes, was a little baby dragon. It looked at Deborah and aproached happily. Deborah scooped it up in her arms, calling to Raven that she had found it. "That was strange," Raven replied, "I've found it too!" Raven showed Deborah another dragon with looks at you with curiosity from behind the leader's legs. It aproached Deborah and the other dragon with a clumsy walk, cooing happly. "Twins?!" Deborah asked, shocked. Skye just stared in amazment. "I can't see any other explaintion," Raven said in surpise. "Wow..." Deborah sighed, watching the two little ones play...

You get the impression that time has passed as a new image appears before you. "Weeeep! Weeeeeeep!!!" Deborah looked up from the food she was making for the twins. Deborah and Skye raced to where they had left the twins to play. Kagen was sitting on the ground, crying, his whole body tense. Kagen's eyes were locked onto the same corner where you had found Celeste the day the twins had hatched. Kagen moved twords you, glancing up at you. A soft noise began to come from the corner. Then it grew to a growl. Deborah looked, and found Celeste sitting in the corner, growling. Kagen looked up at his bondmate, and then began to cry again from behind Deborah's legs. Celeste got up and growled again. "Skye, look at her claws!" Skye loooked down, and saw that Celeste's claws were a light blue color. Deborah quickly glanced at Kagen's, but found that they were the normal, dark grey. Kagen screamed out a warning as a dark shape streaked twords his bondmate. With a thump, a night cat landed before her. "Hello!" the cat said, "I have a message for you from Raven. She sends her apoligies that she couldn't be here for the growing, but with the complcations with Empress Luna's hatching, she wanted to stay with her and make sure that everything went well." Growing, no wonder Deborah thought, looking back at Celeste's claws. Deborah gasped when she say Kagen's eyes glowing a bright yellow. "But you don't have anything to worry about, I have been specially trained for this!" The night cat looked a little proud. Deborah looked back at Kagen, and found that his skin had turned shiny, but still black. Celeste's tail had turned a bright crystal color. Celeste walked over to Kagen, and begin to inspect his changes. Kagen's color began to waver. Then, suddenly, Kagen faded! Skye let out a little screem. They could see the ground right through him! "Kagen..." Deborah whispered. The dragon faded back in again, and his bondmate scooped him up in her arms. "Shadow.... so its true!" The night cat said, "they... they have the power of inivisiblility!" Skye looked turly frightened. The night cat turned to the fairy, "Now don't panic," he said, then turned back to Deborah, "I have read all about shadows, and they don't gain control over their powers untill they become adults." Celeste was turning crystal colored very quickly. Both of the once small dragons were growing very quickly into teens... The images of the newly grown teens fades, and is replaced by new images. You again feel as if these images are some how at later time. Kagen and Celeste are standing in the center of their clearing. The crystal stands out like a beacon of light against the night. The shadow blended in to the night sky. "Are you ready Celeste?" Kagen called out to his twin. "You bet Kagen," she said with a low growl, crouching down, ready to spring. Kagen assumed the same possition. With twin roars the dragons launched themselves at each other, wings and arms spread to grasp at first contact. With a loud crunch, the two colided. They sprang away, and turned to attack again. By the Light, what are they doing?! You think to yourself. Spring, clash, turn, spring, clash turn. The fighting continued for what could have been a moment, or an eternity. When it finaly finished, the twins colapsed together, giggling and laughing. "Kagen, your getting so much better! In no time, you will be Empress Luna's best shadow warrior out of all of them!!" Celeste said, smiling at her brother. Kagen grinned sheepishly. "Your getting just as good as me, my twin," he said, giving her a nuzzle. Time passes, again. Kagen and Celeste were resting, tired from their recient growing to the adult stage. Both had become air types, and had spent most of their strength practing their flight skills. They had also discoved their breath weapons, and were using dead trees and rocks as targets. Like anything they set their minds to, they were mastering it with amazing speed. A gateway opened, and Deborah, the twin's bondmate, steped out, grinning from ear to ear. "Kagen, Celeste! I've got a question," the girl said, stroling up to the resting adults. Kagen raised his head. "Sure, whats up?" He asked. "Well, Raven just sent me a message, congratulating you two on your growing. She also asked if you would like to inrole in her training program, so that you can improve your skills even more," Kagen gaped in suprise. Celeste opened her eyes, pride filling them. "Kagen! What a great oppertunity! Now you can train against other dragons!" Celeste said, clapping her brother on the back. Kagen looked slightly sad. "But... I... what about you Celeste? You've trained just as hard as I have!" The shadow stuttered, not wanting to leave his twin behind. Deborah's grin widened. "Not just you Kagen. You too, Celeste, have been invited to inrole." Celeste's eyes filled with tears, and she threw her arms around Kagen's long neck. "We accept!" The two said as one. "I knew you would! I will reply to Raven right now!" "Just think, Celeste, we will both get proper training. We can both serve as Empress Luna's warriors!" The image before you begins to fade, untill you return to a deep sleep... You begin to wake to the sound of soft humming. You realize that someone is reciting a poem. You lie on the ground, listing to it lyrics:
Cradle Song by: Sarojini Naidu From groves of spice, O'er fields of rice, A thwart the lotus-stream, I bring for you, Aglint with dew, A little lovely dream, Sweet, shut your eyes, The wild fire-flies Dance through the fairy neem; From the poppy-bole For you I stole A little lovely dream. Dear eyes, good-night, In golden light The stars around you gleam; On you I press With the soft caress A little lovely dream.
You stare at the words without seeing them when you finish reading. You sit in the light of the pin pricks, waiting for someone to come. After a bit, you find your eyes drifting shut on their own accord. You move to the edge of the clearing and place your back against a tree. The midnight air is soft and cool, and soon you find your eyes drifting shut...

Little flame mouths, Cool your tongues. Dreaming starts soon, Furnace lungs. Rest your wings now, Little flappers. Cave mouth calls to dragon nappers. Night is coming; Bank your fire. Time for dragons To retire.
When the person is finished, you open your eyes and see a fairy sitting near you. You look again, and realize its Skye. You sit up, and Skye jumps to her feet, holding a knife. Rubbing sleep out of your eyes, you assure her that you arn't going to harm her. After proving that you passed Fae's test, Skye puts her knife away. You ask the fairy about the poem. "Oh, well, Deborah read it once in a book called Dragon's Blood, by a human named Jane Yolen. She then taught it to me," you smile at the fairy, "Are you here to see the dragons?" you nod, "Great! They just went through their growing, and are now at their final stage: adult. We were lucky enough to get twins!" you ask if the Silver Empress had been found. "What? How do you know about that? You saw it in a dream? The twin's hatching and growings too? Weird... Well, I'm afarid you got part of it wrong. This isn't the Silver Empress's home. This place was built for a white, silver, or crystal dragon, but the Siver Empress's egg has already been found and is being cared for by Raven at Silver Valley." You nod, showing your understanding. "Would you like to hear about our little twins?" you nod happily. "When they hatched, they had run off in different directions so we didn't know that they egg held two dragons. When Deborah found one, Raven found one at the same time, and there was a bit of confusion at first. When they went through their growing, we were all suprised to discover their colors. Celeste became a crystal, and Kagen a shadow. We were all very suprised about this becuase twins are only suppost to come in common colors, but crystal is a special color, and the shadow is a rare mutation that hardly every happens. Deborah asked about shadow, since there wasn't any information on them, and Raven said that the shadows will only come with the Empress, but many people will get them. Some time in the future, their may be more shadow dragons. The shadows are kind of like the Silver Empress' warriors." You nod, understanding now. "Well, would you like to meet the twins?" You nod, "Great! Follow me!" Skye leads you to the center of the clearing. Sitting together are two large dragons. You are shocked to see the difference in their colors. One stands out against the darkness like a becon; bright white with swirls of colors. You assume that this one is Celeste, the crystal. You strain your eyes to try to make out the second dragon. This one, Kagen you guess, is black, with bright glowing yellow eyes. He moves in front of his sister, and you gasp: you can see through parts of his wings! When he moves away, his wings fade back into the night. You aproach the two smiling. The shadow spots you first, and jumps to block your path. The crystal sees you as well, and joins her brother, ready to fight. "Watch out Skye! There's something behind you!!" Kagen growls.. "Its ok, Kagen, this is a human here to visit you. It wont hurt you." Skye promises. "Well... I don't know. I wont let it hurt you or anyone else!" "Kagen, if Skye says it wont hurt us, then I belive her," Celeste leans closer to Kagen and whispers, "If the human tries anything funny, we can take it before it goes two steps. Our practice and training is paying off." Kagen nods, a grin slipping across his face. "I'm Kagen," the shadow says boldly. "Celeste," his sister says. "So your here to see us huh? We don't get many visitors." "That was why we wanted to seperate you from your hide," Kagen says with a low growl. Celeste elbows him in the ribs, and he weezes. You ask them how their training and mock battles are going. "Oh, you saw that did you? In a dream?" Kagen says with grin. "Well, we were just practing, to make sure that we are ready for any attack!" "Actually, we are really doing this for Kagen, really. He is a shadow dragon, and as a shadow, its his duty to be Empress Luna's personal warrior. The better Kagen is prepared, the better he can serve our Empress Luna." Celeste explains. "We are getting pretty good, and Kagen beats me almost every time!" Kagen beams with pride. "You do really well yourself Celeste!" Kagen says, putting a big paw on hers. She gives him a small smile. "We are also inroled in a special training program that is helping us growing stronger," Kagen says, his chest swelling with pride. "So, tell our guest about your mates!" Skye says with an evil gleam in her eyes. Both of the dragons become embaressed, looking away. Kagen nudges Celeste with his nose, indicating that she should go first. "Well, my mate is Ryuuza. He is such a handsome dragon. He is the only other night dragon in Silver Valley besides Ravens. Ryuuza is an air dragon, just like me, so we can fly together..." Celeste trails off, giggling. "Your turn Kagen!" "My mate is Terra, a green earth dragon. She lives here within the Forest, a bondmate of Deborah's. She wandered in here one day, and we got to talking and..." Kagen grins. "She is so beautiful! And quite curouse too!" He smiles fondly at the memory of his mate. The twins grin at each other happly. "Well, how about taking your visitor about?" Skye askes. "Hmm... I guess we could show you around..." the crystal tells you. "But we'll be watching..." the shadow finishes. "Follow us," the twins says in unison, "We will show you our home..."
