And Then...
You may be thinking, what about the rest of the elements?  Aren't more of them?  There are but unlike the lighter elements they were not formed in a stellar core, but rather in Supernovae.

It is believed that while the  fusion was happening and stars were forming there was a series of Supernovae (these were timed much slower apart then first elements).  A Supernovae is type of explosion that produce bright objects made of plasma, that inevitably become invisible over the course of weeks or months.  Two things can cause a Supernovae: a massive star may stop creating fusion and the core of the star collapses into itself or a white dwarf star may reach its maximum mass and will have a thermonuclear explosion.

During the Supernovae it once again got very hot, but just hot enough that things were getting fused together at more rapid rates and getting fused together with other large elements.
Let Us Look Into the Crystal Ball
Many scientists are split on what will happen in the future:

One theory is that the universe will continue to expand until there is no longer any "extra" Dark Matter is left for the universe to expand into.  Then there will be a what I can only imagine will be like a sling shot, with the Dark Matter as the rubber band.  Being slowly pulled back then slowing down until it can't go any further and snapping back toward the "center".

There is a theory that we will expand forever with Dark Matter filling the gaps between the matter that doesn't exist.

Either way that is far off in the future, so far in fact we wouldn't get to really get to see one of them (or the others) actually develop into something no one could deny.

Though there is something we may live to see, the creation of new elements.  Many labratories are working to get new elements true, but we may live to see new elements created naturally.  With the universe currently expanding and cooling there is no telling what we may find before it all end (if it does).
