This page is dedicated to Anders .. my best friend in the world.

How We Met:

Back in July of 96 I went to Plattsburgh for "transfer oreintation" where I became close friends with Sandy, Chris, Luke (Octavio), and Ken. We all exchanged addresses and phone numbers and promised to meet up again when we all came back to uni in August ... and so we did. One day in September, Chris told Sandy and I to go to the computer lab with her. It was then that I got my first glimpse of the IRC. And .. well .. you all know where that led ;)

From going to Chris's dorm, I met Beth who lived next door. We became instant friends. She let me come over and use the computer when I didn't feel like walking all the way to the lab.

Around the same time, Anders was in his last year of school. And, being the hard-working guy that he is, was working long hours for a company called Logicon in Denmark.

One night in November while at Beth's on the IRC, I was talking to my friend Drew (ok, so I could have walked down the road to talk, but still). He had started up a new channel and wanted me to join and spread the word. So I did.

At the same time, Anders was pulling an all nighter at work. What dedication! .. well .. actually, he had no choice in the matter. The main computer at Logicon caught fire. He had to stay there to get all the computers up and running again.

I wasn't in the channel for 5 minutes when I got "Banan ([email protected]) has joined #roots" on my screen. We greeted each other and began to chat ..
.. And that, as they say, is that.

What We're Like:

For those of you who don't know us well, or not at all, we're definatly something! I don't know if my name 'means' anything, but in German, 'anders' means 'different, unique'. I guess that's the best and easiest way to describe us.

Things We Like:

Anders and I are two people who enjoy life, like to be silly (and we're good at it!!!), and love smiles and *hugs*. We can't get enough of jumping on couches, beds, chairs, in place (etc), eating pizza, talking on the phone, listening to music, and rollerblading. We like being happy and having fun. Afterall, what's the sense of doing something if it isn't entertaining. "A day without smiling is a wasted day". We both love nature and are hopelessly hooked on poetry. "Feeling like a raindrop on a web..."

This was the first glimpse that I ever got of Anders back in November of 1996.

I tossed this in here so that we could share the embarrassment of having a baby picture online

There are so many things that can be said about friendship. There are so many languages, so many words, and yet .. there's no way to exactly say just how much you mean to me. You've been there for me in good times and bad. You've seen me through some of the hardest times. And no matter what .. you're always still there for me. You've made me *laugh* ... you've made me *smile* .. you've 'wiped away' the tears.

Thank You!

Update:
Anders and I finallygot to meet face to face for the first time in May of 1998. Can you believe it???After all this time .. after all the ups and downs, tears and smiles .. we finally met. And, the world dealt with it! (*ppppllll* on U world!) I miss him lots though. It's hard to know someone for what feels like forever, get to spend a little over a week not more than 50 feet away from each other, and then be thousands of miles away from them. But, don't worry yourselves .. we both know that no matter what .. we're only a phone call away from each other. "Distance can keep people apart, but the bond of friendship is stronger!

AGAIN ... Anders & I met up in July 2001. Actually, he & Ss picked me up at the airport in lborg on the morning/afternoon of my 25th birthday. Although no one got me with the cinnamon (HA HA HA Randi!!!) I still enjoyed it (well .. except for the train and the 2 planes ... it's not fun to do when you're drunk off your ass!!! ... See my page about my Urbino trip for further details). We spent time camping up in Lkken (see Mike's bumperstickers for that one ROFLMAO!). A pretty wicked storm came thru when we were in town. Well, needless to say that when we got back to the site, the tent that I shared with Lars and Lone was about 6cms or so underwater! It was a soggy night! Then next morning we packed up all the gear and took our time traveling back to Kbenhavn. Once we arrived back at the apartment, we hung out most of our stuff to dry and took the rest to the laundry mat to dry them. Then it was off to the Mouse & Elephant ... and YES! There really IS an elephant head on the wall that pours beer out the snout! Then we went to El Inca. Then I got a SUNRISE tour of Kbenhavn. Afterwards we went to the 7-11 and got the makings for breakfast and then went to wake-up Carsten & Christina (Oops!). We hopped a cab back to the apartment where Ss passedout cold and Anders took me to the airport to head back to Italy. DAMN I MISS BEING THERE!!!
