This page may be one of most detailed and comprehensive guides, as far as Spiderman goes.  Let me clue you in.  Every week, I will feature a new and exciting biography on a Spiderman character; villain or hero.  During this week you can learn where he/she was born, where they trained, and what group they're with.  Missed last week's bio?  No problem.  In the compilation index, you can easily locate any week's bio in the blink of an eye.  There are currently ten bios in the Index. Powers: The Scorpion is not a natural mutant the bodysuit designed for him gives him most of his powers.  However due to radiological tests, his leg muscles are superhumanly strong.

Origin:  Once a private detective looking for money, MacDonald "Mac" Gargan was given $10,000 to undergo radiation treatments and tests that would eventually turn him into the Scorpion, the legendary enemy of a spider.
In fact, that's exactly what the Scorpion was designed to do.  J. Jonah Jameson, the hated publisher of the Daily Bugle, despised of Spiderman so much that he hired Dr. Farley Stillwell, a professional who could cause mutations in animals.
After going through the exhausting tests, Gargan was finally ready to put on the body suit made exclusively for him by Dr. Stillwell.  The suit included an incredible tail, which could have many uses as Gargan soon found out.  The science tests had also made him stronger, so much that he was able to crush Spiderman in their first battle.
However, peace was not kept for long.  After almost killing Spiderman, Jameson feared that he would be sued for having a direct connection with The Scorpion.  In fact, Dr. Stillwell even created a medicine which would reverse the effects of Gargan's powers. Unfortunately, Stillwell was killed before the antidote could ever be used.
In other past battles, Spiderman has been able to successfully defeat the Scorpion by using his wits and spider-sense.  But, as Spiderman clearly knows, he cannot avoid the Scorpion for long, as Gargan continues to improve his tail coordination and stamina.

Interesting Fact: The Scorpion can use his tail as a spring, by coiling it up and releasing it.
