| DragonBall Z The first son of Goku and Chi-Chi and the father of Pan. Gohan was born in the space of time between DragonBall and DragonBall Z. He is named after Goku's adoptive grandfather and is presurred at a young age by Chi-Chi to become a scholar. At the age of 4 (5 and a half according to the dub), Gohan accompanied his father to a reunion of old friends at Kame-House. This little get together was interrupted by the arrival of Goku's brother, Raditz. Raditz kidnapped Gohan in the hope that this would allow him to manipulate his younger brother. Gohan was locked up in Raditz's space pod while Raditz fought off the joint attack of Goku and Piccolo. The most most powerful warriors on Earth were on the verge of defeat when suddenly a hidden power emerged in Gohan, brought out by his fear and rage of what was happeneing. Gohans power level rose to 1,370 and with this new power Gohan seriously weakened Raditz allowing Goku and Piccolo to defeat him. However, Gohans power diminshed as quickly as it came. Determined to get Gohan to harness his power in time for the Saiya-jin invasion in one year, Piccolo took Gohan with him for training. Gohan did not like the training at first and managed to escape back to his home. However, he realised he was needed to help the planet and returned to training with Piccolo. Gohan turned into an Oozaru while training with Piccolo but Piccolo removed his tail noting that Oozaru Gohan could destroy the planet.Gohan did not manage to harness his hidden power during this year long training but did managed to become a skillful fighter. Despite this Gohan seemed out of his depth in the fight against Nappa and Vegeta and only attacked when enraged as this caused his pwer to emerge. Gohan could only watch as Nappa launched an attack that would've killed him but Piccolo stepped in and took the full force of the blast and died. Later on during the battle, Gohans tail grew back and he saw the Power Ball that Vegeta has created to turn him into an Oozaru and Gohan also transformed into this state. A by now tail-less Vegeta managed to slice off Gohans tail but Gohans giant Oozaru body landed on Vegeta, spellling his defeat. After recovering in hospital after the battle, Gohan left for Namek with Krillin and Bulma. Their goal was to go to Namek and gather the Namekian DragonBalls so they could wish back their friends that had died in the battle with Nappa and Vegeta. While on Namek, Gohan and Krillin stumbled on a village being ransacked by Furiza and his troops.Gohan resuced a Namekian child named Dende and Gohan and Krillin fled the scene. Furiza sent Dodoria after them but Vegeta got in the way of the pursuit.(But thats a story for another day)After much switching of the DragonBalls between the three parties on Namek, (Furiza, Vegeta and Gohan & Krillin) Furiza decided enough was enough and sent the Ginyu Force. Gohan and Krillin formed a loose alliance with Vegeta and prepared to take on the Ginyu Force. However, they were no match for the power of Recoome and even Gohans hidden power couldn't defeat him. Eventually Goku arrived on Namek and defeated the Ginyu Force but not before a series of strange events in which Gohan and Krillin had to fight Goku whos body was being occupied by Ginyu. After the battle, Goah, Krillin and Dende summoned the Namekian Dragon Porunga while Vegeta was resting. They brought Piccolo back to life and also brought him to Namek however Guru (and, thus, the Dragon) died before Vegeta could make his wish for immortality. Vegeta was about to attaack Gohan and the others when Furiza arrived. Vegeta and the others put their differences on hold again as they fought the impossibly strong Furiza. Gohan could not do much in the battle but managed to hurt Furizas second form after Gohans power emerged when he witnessed a near fatal injury to Krillin. Goku arrived on the battle-field and supposedly defeated Furiza with a Genki-Dama . However, Furiza survived, killing Krillin and gravely injuring Piccolo. Goku turned Super Saiya-jin and told his son to leave the planet with Piccolo. Gohan made his way to the Capsule Corp spacecraft Goku had arrived in, along with Piccolo and Bulma. However, the ship wouldn't launch and things were looking bad when a wish was made that brought all the people on Namek (save Goku and Furiza) back to Earth. People who died at Furizas hand was also revived so Dende healed Piccolo and Vegeta briefly fought Gohan on Earth. After the events on Namek, Gohan was once more forced to study non-stop by his mother who had become even more over-protective ever since Gokus failure to return from Namek.
