"So let me get this straight; you've been here for all of three months, and already you wanna have yerself a flight?" The words came out in a dry, skeptical tone, emitted from lips that were persed in contained agitation. Black eyes glared upwards from beneath knotted, black brows, set in a face of coffee-and-cream brown. Yes. Considering where we are, I think it would be a perfect time for me to fly. The giant, red dragoness tilted her head to the side and regarded her rider with red-yellow eyes. Besides, I'm long overdue. "Dragon shit." Rugan growled, though more for her own benefit then to argue her bond's point. Her arms remained firmly crossed over her chest in an immoble act of defiance, and her head tilted up only enough to pass a sideways glare into the whirling opals of Ruoal's eyes. Where they were was Ryslen, and the reason for their being there sat snickering silently behind his titanic red sister. Normally, it took a few days of battle before Rugan so much as conceeded to approach a place where her bonds intended to chase; or, in Ruoal'Shon's case, fly. Afterwards, it was a constant match of wills between Porth and Rugan, almost always ending in a fist fight. This time around though, Porth had managed to trick their mutual rider into a 'informative mission' to Ryslen. Once there, he'd signed himself and his brother, Yarpath, up for a flight he'd had his eye on. Not that the muscular brown ever kept his gaze to himself anyway. Aw come on, Rugan. Lighten up. This'll be her first flight with a rider. And since you don't have a mate, there's no reason for you to hang around me and Yarpath. Porth cut in, his earthen voice showing hints of a taunting chuckle. "Shut up ye rock-brained, scaleless lizard." Rugan snapped. The growl that had begun in her chest gave an audible jump to the back of her throat, and vibrated there through her clenched teeth. Ruoal'Shone gave a start, looking in bewilderment to her bond brothers. That is her sign of affection, right? Still new to the group of oddities, Ruoal had been having difficulties desciphering the actions of her metal-working rider since the day she Chose. Porth had supplied what help he could, until Yarpath had dismissed all his teachings as self-enhancing lies and proceeded to explain the daily trials of life with Rugan in full detail. It was he, the copper-toned giant, that sighed gustily and answered her quiry. For either of us it would be, for Porth, it's exactly what it sounds like. Yarpath swung his great, curving head around to peer at their oak-dark brother. The smallest of the trio, but far from meekest, gave the explanation a dismissive snort. Of course it's a sign of her love. Rugan couldn't live without me. The egotistical brown tilted his angular muzzle skyward in a pose of smug self-assurance. "No it ain't!" Rugan snarled back, turning her sharply obsidian glare on the bulky brown. Her accent came on strongly in the midst of her rage, making Ruoal strain to pick out the individual words. "It don't mean anything of the sort, and I STILL ain't lettin' yeh chase!" But... you're considering letting Ruoal'Shon fly. The mighty brown lost all his self-possession and turned a simpering, puppy-eyed pout on his rider. The look was lost, partly because of his draconic muzzle, and partly because Rugan didn't care a whit. "Ruoal'Shon's different." The dark-skinned, dark-tempered woman responded with a low, lethal mutter. "She ain't sex driven like you, ya lousy excuse for a dragon." I take that as a yes. Ruoal interceeded where she could. The look Rugan sent her told her she hadn't intended on allowing the flight yet, but now she was caught. Rugan gave a vehement snarl, then turned and stalked away. If she was being forced to stay for these flights, she'd get her usual accomidations ready. A single room with a single bed and a single key -in her possession- as well as a hefty stock of her favourite drink. Fortunately for the folk of Ryslen, the black smith would be out of sight for the duration of her stay. Only those foolish enough to try to walk in on her would face her wrath, and probably come out worse for wear. When their rider was out of sight, disappearing down a corridor into the depths of Ryslen, Ruoal'Shon turned a startled gaze on her flanking brothers. That was easier then I'd thought. She commented, a lighter tone of amusment colouring her fiery voice. Awww... Rugan's an old softie at heart. Porth swivelled his head towards his copper brother in the next instant, his eyes blazing with eager anticipation. C'mon, Yar'! We've got ourselves some females to impress! Good luck with your flight. The quiet Denner offered his sister an encouraging bob of his head as he readied to follow the extravagant Porth. And don't worry about signing up. Rugan will take care of that. The shimmering, red dragoness dipped her own head in response, offering thanks to her mild-mannered brother, then turning in the opposite direction. Geperna had their own ways of preparing for flights, and she thought it high time to start preening. Yarpath soon caught up with Porth, walking on all fours instead of his usual two. The choice had no real backing behind it; simply the current whim of the lumbering copper. Sinuous neck pulsing with long-laboured muscles, Yarpath turned a questioning gaze on his bond sibling, and voiced his curiousity outloud. Which females are we to meet? You didn't specify when we first came. A lovely pair of Hathians. I call the green! One comment came on the quick tailend of the other as Porth eyed his destination. Two Hathian females, one green and one yellow, sunning themselves by the lake. Both glowing with pre-flight beauty, and surrounded by a small grouping of double bonded males. That will be fine. Yarpath conceeded with another nod of his head. He preferred the shy demenour of yellows anyway. I will court the yellow then. Their names? Dunno, dun care. We'll find out when we get there. Porth pratically skipped the rest of the way to meet the females, while Yarpath paused and gave a suffering roll of his eyes. You are impossible, Porth.
