"Creesath! I'm trying to work!" Melodia sighed in frustration, gazing down at the large blot of ink on the page before her. She hated wasting paper. Helena hated it more since Ryoth complained whenever she had to fetch more. Sighing to herself, Melodia hid the ruined sheet beneath her desk and pulled out a fresh one.

The white-gold queen who had repeatedly been trying to get her rider's attention and repeatedly failed, snorted in disinterest and turned away. She lumbered back to her dragon bed, dilberately smacking her tail against the edge of Melodia's chair.

Melodia had never been known for her balance. More for her lack of it. How she had ever survived so long with the duties of a Junior Weyrwoman was still a mystery to most. As the chair toppled over, taking Melodia with it, the small blue flit that had been perched on the woman's shoulder squawked in surprise and began chittering angrily. A loud 'thud' resounded through the weyr as Melodia hit the ground. She cursed darkly, something she rarely did and rubbed the back of her head.

"Creesath! What in Faranath's name do you think you're doing?! I have to get this work done!" Her patience was wearing thin as she glared over at the small, white gold dragoness. Creesath only lifted her head and closed her eyes.

"All you ever do is work."

"That's because I'm one of two Junior Weyrwoman." Melodia retorted, righting the chair and sighing lightly as she noticed the second ruined sheet of paper. Boku landed on her shoulder and cooed softly. His small, blue head rubbed against her cheek gently as Melodia sat down again.

"Then stop being a Junior Weyrwoman! You never pay any attention to me anymore."

Melodia looked over in time to catch the hint of sadness in her dragon's blue eyes. "That's not true and you know it, Cree!" As Creesath continued to look sad and forgotten in her own corner, Melodia stood quietly and walked over to her. Both dragon and rider were known around the warren for their beauty. Creesath with her shimmering, white-gold hide and Melodia with her fair skin and blonde hair. The young rider sat by her dragon's side, stroking the smooth hide gently. "I'm sorry Cree.... I know you're restless. I feel it too but I have to get this work done." She sighed softly. Creesath remained silently. Melodia whimpered and placed her head against her dragon's flank. "I don't know what to do Cree. I want to be out there having fun as much as you do but Mystic needs me. This is a big place. You know that. There's a lot of work to be done." The white gold dragoness cooed softly, nudging her rider.

"I know, rider mine. But you need a break. Mystic would agree."

"Just let me finish this paper and then we'll go out. I promise." Melodia smiled softly, looking up at her dragon without moving her head. Creesath purred happily, nudging her again.

"Make it quick."

Melodia laughed and stood up, kissing her white gold lifemate quickly on the snout then moving back to the table. Boku again settled happily on her shoulder as she pulled out yet another fresh sheet of paper. This was the third time she was attempting to make a list of all the rising females and where they were going. Mystic had requested it to keep chaos at a minimum when the females of the warren rose.

"Why are you so eager to get outside anyway, love?" She asked absently, penning in a few names.

"Check your list." Creesath returned, hiding a grin. Melodia raised a brow quizitavely then looked down the list Mystic had scratched out quickly for her. There, near the bottem of rising females, was Creesath's name.

Melodia stared in shock then looked up at her dragon. "You've got to be kidding me! This is why you're being so annoying?!"

"There's more." Creesath chuckled. "I've already been down to the Healing Den and had Baeris sign us up for the next Frenzy. She half expected Melodia to faint or hit her head off something. Surprisingly, her rider simply sat there, unmoving. "Melodia? Are you alright?" Melodia fainted.
