A small gathering had come together on the lush grasses of the flight field at the announcement of two returning riders. Some people talked and laughed, speculating on the bonds these two had possibly found. Others simply watched the sky edgily, dreading the bonds these two had possibly found. Some, having travelled a great distance to see this very day, smiled upon the clear blue sky with patience and the comforting knowledge that, after today, they wouldn't have to deal with the terrible duo.
Siltek growled and shifted from foot to foot. Something she would never have done as a member of the BlackRose clan; especially not in the presence of her Alpha. Fentrik chuckled in his deep, baritone voice, hands clasped loosely behind his back and black eyes scanning the wisps of clouds.
"Nervous?" He asked absently. The single word rolled up from his chest like a contented purr, barely disturbing the thick locks of pure black fur that framed his feline face. Fentrik was a black Liron in all his glory. Nearly 8' tall with a tufted tail and long, glossy mane. His only attire was the decorated pair of shorts covering his lower half.
"Humphf." Siltek snorted indignantly. "I'm not nervous. I'm petrified. While you get to return to the clan and remain completely apart from these two for the rest of your life, I have to continue training them."
"I'm sure it won't be that bad." Fentrik soothed, a white toothed grin flashing beneath his dark muzzle. To Siltek's other side, Moonshadow chuckled discreetly.
"Here they come!" Someone in the crowd cried, pointing out the two graceful forms that burst into sight in the blink of an eye. Both dragons raised their voices in musical calls of greeting and joy, echoing the other dragons as they welcomed the new comers. Both spread bluish-white wings to the sky, spiralling down on thermals of warm air.
One was sleek and graceful, smug with the knowledge that she was queen. Layers of blue, white, and green swept across her angular form. Bright and pure on the tip of her nose and dark as a forested night on her spiked tails. Dark blue highlights caressed her stomach and part of her muscular legs, repeating in the wide wing sails opened to the wind. Horns and spikes arched down her back, matching in colour to the four sets of blades on her two tails. Two odd, black marks in the shapes of clovers glittered on the tip of her wing tines and the stretch of leather between those poweful joints.
The other was far brighter, sparkling in the glory of the sun with her golden markings. Her pale green faces became pale blue the further towards her tail the colouring marched. Tips of gold on her muzzles, legs, tails, and wing tines shone and dazzled the eye as she danced in the air, purposefully showing off her large and beautiful form. The pale blue of her wing sails matched the pale blue sails that extended from her twin tails. Unlike her sister, this dragoness only had one clover mark; centered on the delicate membrane in front of her wing joints. Yet the oddest thing of all of this boastful dragoness was the set of two heads that called joyously back to the dragons below. Two heads, two, intelligent, happy-go-lucky heads. Siltek groaned loudly.
"Hi-ya!" Rill and Ra'al called in their perky tones as their unique bonds came to a gentle landing in the center of the gathering. Ra'al gave an energetic hop down from the white-green-blue's back while Rill literally bounced down from her two-headed glory and ran, squealing, into Siltek's arms.
"Aren't they beautiful?" She giggled in her high-pitched voice. Siltek hid her grimice and forced a smile. In truth, she was kind of impressed by the size and potential these two showed.
"They're wonderful." The black Lironess tried and failed to keep the lack of enthusiasm from her voice. "What are their names?"
"This is Kedith." Ra'al stuck in quickly, hugging the blue-striped muzzle of her white-blue-green bond.
"And this is Katzeth!" Rill squealed again, caught between two adoring heads as the dragoness sought affection.
Hi-ya! One of the dragonesses, Katzeth, finally failed to contain her excitment and burst into Siltek's mind with a happy swirl of colours. Only... there were two identical voices talking at once. Rather confusing to the poor Huntress. You're Siltek, right? Rill's told me soooo much about you! I can't wait to start training. It's gonna be the greatest! Just the five of us. Well... six if you count my other head. This comment was followed by two, nerve-grating giggles. Everyone gets confused because they don't know which head is talking. It's really both of us at once! See, that side of me isn't really different from this side, which is probably confusing since both of us are talking right now. You get it?
"No." Siltek pressed a paw to her aching head as the overjoyed Katzeth finally finished her rant. Lucky for her, Kedith was too involved talking to the other dragons to notice the black fured female.
"Come on, Rill! We have to choose our dens!" Ra'al's chattering commentary was followed up by another bubbling giggle.
"Ok!" Rill returned with the same exuberant squeal. As the two tan Lironesses pranced off with their dragons, Siltek closed her eyes against the dull throb that would soon become a pounding headache.
"Huh." Fentrik said in interest, his shoulders moving with the small effort of the word. Black eyes turned on Siltek, smiling with the knowledge that he was leaving soon. "I guess it's worse then I thought."
