Honestly, at first I didn't like Dean very much. I was having too much fun with Cris' background and stuff between Merno adn Amya but since he is the main character, I had to work on him work so gradually I learned to love Dean. He is a cute character and he is pretty badass with his dragons.
Dean is a tad bit of a narcolept. He's always found napping and can tend to be lazy at times. Generally He is a happy-go-lucky character(unless he hasn't gotten any sleep) but if friends are in danger he'll get into gear in a blink of an eye. -semi-spoiler- Dean aventually falls in love with the Princess Nima -semi-spoiler over- and will do anything to protect her. Since he never had a family other than his grandfather and his uncle, Merno, he cares deeply about his friends even though he can be a tad dense when it comes to love. (hasn't noticed how in love Meale is with him..)
Dean was born to Kie and Lema Kiata on June 13th into a shappy faerie home in the town of Nin on the continent Elien. His birth was kept a secert except between family. Kie was well aware that people would be out to kill him, because of the oncoming release of Ghouleona. His plan was if Dean was unknown to the world, than he would live and save them from the goddess. All went well for the 3 years he watched Dean grow until one day his friend Danon Kir was arrested and put into the gladitorial battle against a spawn demon. Kie and his younger brother, Merno, snuck into the arena to save Dana from what would be certain death. Lema, Dean and Danan's wife watched from the stands. Anyways, Kie and Merno had successfully gotten Danon out of harms way, Kie and Merno where still in the arena. Suddenly the demon turned and charged straight at Kie, impaling in in the chest with it's horn. The young Dean was tramutized by this so Lema and Merno took him to the best mage they could find and had his memories erased. After this Lema dissappeaered and Merno was left to raised Dean but he never let him know what happened to Kie.
