| Animal overpopulation. Many stray animals who cannot find homes are euthanized to keep the population at a reasonable number. |

| Animal Cruelty. Animals are treated for any wounds they may have. If too severe they are put to sleep. Many animals that are mistreated make some of the most loving pets. |
| Illegal Fighting. This is animal cruelty at it's worst. Dogs, even horses, must be put to sleep if found fighting. These animals have the potential of attacking their next owner. |
