Deekin rushed on through the long corridor of the Shambala palace, his white cloak billowing out behind him in a mad fury. He had grown up in these halls and been through them many times, but now the white paint and the many colorful paintings seemed dim. The around the palace raged in a fight for its survival and freedom. Enemy forces had invaded and Deekin knew there was only one thing he could do to help. Down the hall in front of him a small glowing ball of orange and red flew toward him. A person unaccustomed to the sight might think it to be a two inch wide fire ball. Deekin knew what it was however and pressed on, never slowing. The ball grew in size suddenly as the fire pixie changed to an elf size to match Deekins size. She fell in step beside him and gave him a very worried, pleading look, almost confused.
Whats going on? She exclaimed nearly yelling. In her current size it was clear to see what before looked like a glowing ball was really a pretty fey girl. She had long black hair, orange eyes and a yellow tint to her skin. She was dressed in red, yellows, and oranges and had huge butterfly like wings in the same colors. Little orange specks fell from her wings every time they moved.
My Father has joined Queen Ragasha and her armies are attacking the city. Deekin replied surprising himself with how calm he sounded. His family was turning on itself and among fey, that isnt something that happens. The events confused him more than he let himself know. He walked on with a determined look on his face. His mother and sisters were fighting the enemy to try and buy him time. He couldnt let their efforts go in vain.
The kind is evil? The female pixie, Sundrop, had to paused a brief moment. Deekin could imagine it hit her hard as well. It hit everyone hard. Sundrop had served King Rayven Knightwind of Shambala as Chief of Defense for four hundred and fifty years. She caught back up with Deekin. Where are you going? Her voice almost sounded angry. This way leads deeper into the palace.
Yes I know. He replied still sounding and looking more confident than he felt. He made no other effort to explain why he was moving the opposite direction from the fighting.
Are you going to hide? Sundrop demanded causing Deekin to stop now and turn to look at her in shock. He was a Knightwind and a price of Shambala. Hed never hide from danger toward the city.
Im going to the Temple of Time. He stated flatly. Sundrop seemed to realize what was going on in that moment, for her expression changed. She fired up her magical aura again, which made her appear to be surrounded by a magical fire. Deekin knew that Sundrop had helped Mysta come up with the plan he was about to put into effect. She knew very well what was about to occur.
But youre only a fledgling! Sundrop exclaimed sounding a bit worried. I had hoped youd be much older if we ever needed to do that. Its too much. There has to be another way. Deekin was about to snap a response back at Sundrop when the palace suddenly shook violently. He reached out, placing his hands on Sundrops shoulders in order to steady them both. Small bits of wall and ceiling came crumbling down around them. Sundrop gasped in astonishment. Theyre already to the palace?
Must be my fathers help. He still has all the magical keys as king. Deekin started for the temple again, but it took all that was in him not to run into the fight with his sword drawn. He wanted greatly to help his mother, sisters, and brothers. Through a magical link in their royal armor, he could tell they were still all trying to buy him time. He had to use what they were giving me. They all knew they couldnt win, not against Rayven and Ragasha leading the armies of the dark fairies against them. Deekin broke into a run toward the temple, feeling a sudden need to hurry. Sundrop had to revert back to her natural state in order to fly along side and keep up with the young prince.
