Sun and Moon Meet Firestorm

I remember the day I met them as if it were yesterday, but then again, who could possibly forget the first time they met those two? Wyldfire wasgetting in over his head and I was about to go behind his back and enlistmore help. That's how this all came about. My name is Eldon Firestorm andI work for the Agency, which is where I learned of them. They had beenformer employees who decided to go out on their own. Normally the Agencywould have had them terminated, but these girls were so good at what theydid that the Agency couldn't afford to lose them and still sent them onmissions from time to time. Finding the place was harder than expected. They had made their office in the busiest space port in the galaxy, Titania.I wondered around the oldest section of the port. A run down area calledOld Town where most buildings were falling apart. I still don't know howI found the place. On the doorway of a very unimpressive building was thepicture of a crescent moon and the sun merged together and around the  picture, in a circular pattern were the words, "Sun and Moon InvestigativeServices." I knocked, but got no answer. I had come a long way, and a goodfriend was in need of help, so I tried the knob. I was surprised to findthe door unlocked, not something the Agency would approve of, but Maybethat's why they got out, because they didn't approve of the Agency. Mythoughts were interrupted by the sound of voices, two female voices tobe exact. I was still in the open doorway when the first one came in. 'I’mtelling you it's about his lover? Shouted a beautiful blonde wearing atight pink number that flattered her figure amazingly. She looked me upand down over her glasses with her big blue eyes like she was looking oversomething she wished to purchase. She gave a small shrug, nodded her headthen smiled as she headed for her desk, I guess she approved of the merchandise.

"You've got it all wrong!" Exclaimed the other voice from the door on theright. I turned in time to see a tall, skinny women with raven black hairburst into the room. This one didn't even give me a second look, she justwaltzed right by as if I had been another piece of furniture. "The songis about his relationship with society, not a girl."

"Hello, I'm Firestorm.." I tried to say, but they were preoccupied.

"Then why does he say 'she treats me so bad'?" The blonde shot back ather friend.

"He's comparing society to a woman because they're so fickle and hard tocommunicate with." The dark haired girl replied.

"I agree with him." I mumbled under my breath, wishing someone would communicatewith me. I got my wish, but not how I wanted.

"You got a problem, Firestorm?" The dark hair girl suddenly shouted glaringat me. I was so taken back that I didn't know what to say.

"Well are you going to answer her or are you just going to stand in thedoorway like an idiot?" The blonde asked. Whatever anger those girls hadjust been turned on me.

“You know my name?”  I asked the dark haired one.

"You told us your name, big boy." The blonde said, her voice dripping insarcasm. "Now how 'bout that door?." I shut the door and stepped fullyinto the room sighing in frustration.  "What do you think?" She asked, but before I could think of an answer the other girl replied.

"Well, he's tall, good looking, and he has nice eyes," she paused studdingme, "Hmmm, I don't think he's my type." She said at length. What did shemean by that anyway, I’m every girls type. I guess I'll just have to trya little harder with this one, but I’m always up for a good challenge.

"Yea." The other said in agreement. Oh great that's two I have to workon 'Tm Sunet Realmz and this is Moonshade." The blonde informed me. I lookedback at Moonshade, who just smiled and took her place at her desk. Theywere both acting like I’d just walked though the door and there had beenno arguing. I sigh again in frustration and plopped down in the chair facingthem. Something told me that this was going to be a very interesting teaming.

If ever I saw a ladies man, Eldon was one. The problem was that he knewit.  Yea, he defiantly had that God's-gift-to-women air about him. I could tell that Moonshade thought he was cute, but she would never givehim the satisfaction of boosting his ego, at least not until be had befriendedher. She could be cold to those who she didn't classify as friends, andeven then you weren't safe from her sharp tongue.  Believe me, I know. But to get back to Eldon, he didn't pick a very good time for his firstvisit. He walked in on a philosophical argument between me and 'Shade, but we didn't hold it against him.  He told us of his friend Wyldfire, who he believed was in over his head on a case he was working on. At the time we didn't know how very true that was, but we were about tofind out.  I can't tell you how much we got paid for the case, butI can tell you it was enough to get us to head for the giant blue gas planetof Artimes that very night.  He disclosed as much  informationas he knew on the way.  Apparently we were going up against some majorunderground boss who had networks stretching across the whole galaxy. The boss went by the name Anubis.  Both Moonshade and I had heardof him, but fortunately had never had to deal with him before.  Weonly took the case because of our shared love of adventure, hey, if wedidn't love the business, we wouldn't be in it, right?  Well, we defiantlyweren't to be disappointed in the adventure department.

The Starshine isn't that big of a ship, and it sure couldn't hold Firestorm'sego. There didn't seem to be enough cargo space for it. I know I had ahell of a time dealing with the overly vain jerk. There were times whenI thought he was being a nice guy, but then he would make a comment onhow great he was. The ride to Artimes never seemed to take as long as itdid with Eldon Firestorm riding with us.  I was so glad when the shipfinally set down.  We didn't have to deal with all that space portcrap, like customs and security inspections, because we had a friend inthe Women’s Academy of Space Flight. The Head Mistress to be exact. Andif l thought Firestorm was hard to get along with on the ship, well, let'sjust say that an all girls school is not the ideal place to take him.

"Woo hoo Watch out ladies, here I come!" He called out as we stepped offthe Starshine. He looked like a kid in a candy store that had all the moneyin the world.

"Shutup ya big headed jerk, if you're gonna get your friend out of trouble, then you better start thinking with your other head."  I could notbelieve this guy, he got under my skin so bad.  I mean I usually thinkit's kind of cute when a guy has an ego, but this big of one.

"Besides," Sunet offered, "these girls aren't your type, big boy, theycan think for themselves."  The long ride over must have gotten toher, too.

"Man, why you chicks always dogging me?"  He asked in a whine.

"Chicks?!"  I echoed catching the attention of all the girls on thelanding platform.

"Because you are a dog." Sunet stated in a very calm and controlled voice.

“Well, looked what roared in with the space dust." The three of us turnedat the sound of the voice and saw Terasa coming toward us with a welcomingsmile.  I swear I could hear Eldon's jaw hit the deck at the sightof her beauty.  Terasa was a tall, shapely red head with sparkinggreen eyes.  She wore a translucent lace robe over a tight green bodysuit, the green of her suit catching with the green of her eyes in a verycharming manner.  She walked with confidence and a high air that camewith her position.  Terasa approached and offered warm hugs for bothme and Sunet, then she eyed Firestorm. "I hope he doesn’t wish to enrollin the school."  She stated in a joking tone.

"We require information on Anubis."  Sunet told her.  "Rumorhas it that he is on this planet." Terasa raised her eyebrows and waitedfor future explanation.

"This sorry excuse for a man is called Eldon Firestorm,"  I startedto explained getting a hurt look from Firestorm  "has a friend whowent after Anubis and now may be in some kind of danger.  We needto find this friend before he gets himself killed."

“I think we need to finish this conversation inside. Anubis has ears everywhere, regrettably, that includes my school." And with that Terasa led us intothe floating piece of metal that she calls a school. I hate gas planets,I always feel like the cities are going to fall out of the sky, but that'sall a gas planet is, sky.

"What do you mean, 'sorry excuse for a man'?  I’m more man than youcan handle sweetheart” Firestorm whined to me as we were leaving the platform.

“If the shoe fits.”  I replied  “And I’m not, nor will I everbe, your sweetheart.”  This felt more like baby-sitting than a mission. I still don’t know how I ever made it through that adventure.
