Flare turn the corner and suddenly wished she hadn’t. She stopped in shock at the sight of her commander laying unconscious at the feet of their enemy. Before she could act, the light went out, no, it was more than that. Kat was up and at work. Solar Flare, knocked out of her shock, ducked down and to the side instinctively as Bane shot at the spot she had just ben standing in. Flare heard flesh ripping followed by Bane’s scream of pain. Kat has most likely cut him open with her claws. Flare was used to fighting under the false darkness Kat’s power created. She quickly rushed to the sound of Bane’s breathing, which was hard due to the pain, and she struck out with a bright flash which not only hit him in the face, but blinded him.
“Kat, the lights!” The voice of Grisly came from right behind Flare. Being new to the group he was not as accustomed to fighting in the pure darkness.
“That was my ear, Gris.” Flare stated as the darkness lifted. She wiggled a finger around in her ear.
“Sorry.” The big man answered, not really paying attention as he moved to Mike’s side. Flare stepped forward just in time to catch Kat as she was collapsing.
“Looks like we needed Pixie for this battle.” Flare joked.
“Why must you always jest?” Grisly demanded of her annoyed.
“Sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying.” Solar’s reply threw the big man off with her serious tone. “Goblin, get some restraints on Bane.” She demanded just as the little green creature entered the chamber they were in. Bane was on his knees holding his face in his hands. Flare figured he would probably be permanently blinded. Her blast had him point blank in the face. She’d never hit anyone that close with that powerful of a blast before.
