| Varney Varney is a lurid creature who loves to wake up young women by scratching his fangs at the window-pains of their bedrooms while they sleep - imitating with his nails, the noise of hail beating against the glass; his preference is to attack on stormy nights. His face is perfectly white and bloodless. His eyes are hypnotic and of polished tin; his teeth are fearful, hideous and fang-like; his nails hang from the finger ends and he likes to clash them together, producing a hair raising sound that paralizes the victim. Varney drains the blood of his victims through the side of the neck. After feeding, his face becomes flushed with the color of fresh blood and his eyes shine ten times brighter - flashes of light seem to dart from them. He can also be recongnized from the dreadful howling that issues from his throat. |
