Along the southern edge of Amduray, Talavirr is a country with a strong set of traditions in place. Talavirr is ruled by the Verinyo family, and has been ever since the country was founded. Talavirr culture has a heavy emphasis on loyalty, honor, and tradition. The well-learned are given a great deal of respect in Talavirr, and the country has an large number of schools.
Talavirr is much like the Vast Lands, in that almost all of the natives have a bit of elven blood in them. The natives often share physical traits with elves - pointed, angular faces, thin builds, green eyes, and brown hair. After the Forest of Dryads in Claisant became cursed, many elves also moved to Talavirr. Talavirr has also been much more accepting toward all Vargauches than other countries, with the new races having lived peacefully within the country since their freedom. As such, Talavirr has a large Vargauch population that's integrated well into society.
Talavirr's relationship with other countries is mainly one of defense. With Lovoth to the north, hobgoblins to the west, and the neutral Claisant to the east, Talavirr is left alone to fight off many invaders. While Talavirr has a healthy alliance with Tark'Nek and the Vast Lands, there's little the countries can do in many cases. As such, Talavirr has one of the most skilled armies, as well as most civilians able to defend themselves, although the army is extremely overtaxed.
Varinyo is the capitol city of Talavirr named after the first emperor. Located at the southern coast of Talavirr, Varinyo is a busy port city that the rest of the country is built around. To get to most places in Talavirr, the fastest way is through Varinyo.
The Masunari School of Magic is Talavirr's most prestigious magical school. Open only to youngsters who have magical talent and social status, those allowed into the school are truely lucky. Of course, the school isn't without its dangers - due to heavy amounts of magic in the area, strange creatures are often attracted to the school, and sometimes are even born from the school's magical experiments.
Empress Kamirako has been ruling Talavirr since she was 23 years old when he father vanished. Now 44, Kamirako was one of the most effective rulers in the turbulent time when the Vargauches first appeared. Beloved by most of her subjects, there was fear that the country would lose it's royal line when Kamirako was the last living descendant and quite young. Despite worries, with the help of her advisors, she managed to pull the country together, and has since given birth to three children.
Torora and Tararo are Empress Kamirako's bodyguards, and have been responsible for raising and protecting her for over thirty years. Torora and Tararo are Tengaradu assassins sent to kill Kamirako, but were freed by Aura. The two are largely responsible for the enlightened state that Talavirr has toward Vargauches; Torora has proven himself an honorable warrior, and Tararo a wise sage, proving to the people of Talavirr that the Vargauches are not as evil as some claim.
