Dragonette's Land
Wife, Mother, teacher, poet, singer, composer, writer...

The music you are hearing is my originial composition, "The Late August Blue".

The late August Blues will find you.
The temperatures rise and don't fall.
Oh, what's the use of trying?
You can't help but sweat
By ten o'clock you're findin'
Your shirts soakin' wet.
By noon, there's no denyin'
There's no breeze to set
In the front porch,
The backyard,
It's everywhere,
You hear it then, the August Blues.

And the clouds are somewhere else
Rain is nowhere
Leaves are wilting now
Cause they've got the August Blues.

Wish for low clouds
Wish for 'canes
Wish for winter
And you've got Late August.

The late Au-gust Blues will find you.
The temperatures rise and don't fall.
Oh, what's the use of tryin?
You can't help but sweat
By ten o'clock you're findin'
Your shirts soakin' wet.
By noon, there's no denyin'
There's no breeze to set
You've tried the front porch,
The backyard,
It's everywhere,
You hear it then, the August
You feel it then, the August
You can't escape the August Blues.
