The Seven Deadly Sins

1. Lust

The only light came in through a high window, the pale, sick yellow of the old streetlight out on the corner, filtered through swirled glass and a film of grey dust, throwing a moon colored square on the concrete.  There was a smell, in basements, a damp, smothering odor, though accented by the reek of crates of old, moldering books.  Kurt was slammed into the wall below that single pale window, heels against a cardboard box of childrens books and badly off balance for it.  His eyes glowed faintly yellow in the dark, and Todd pressed him too hard, holding him in place with fistfuls of his uniform.

Todd showed nothing, in the dark, though the pale light showed faintly on the crown of his hair.  Kurt couldnt see his face.  His heart beat harder, fingers gripping at the concrete wall behind him.  Todds dark head ducked, towards his throat, and he heard a sharp inhale.  Kurt swallowed and braced his palms behind him.  Todd smelled vaguely of the stagnant ponds where maggots grew as he felt Todds lips brush the fur on his throat.

Kurt was breathing too fast, and too shallow.  Todd could hear it.  His palms smoothed out, dragging his fingers sharply down the V of Kurts uniform, ribs padded by fabric and fur but still there, faintly.  Kurt swallowed by his ear and Todd turned his face, pulling back enough to see him, nose to nose, those yellow eyes too bright in the dark.  Kurt tilted his head back a little, mouth opening to show those white little fangs and breath puffing over Todds chin.  Todd hesitated, hands on Kurts hips, but a challenge was a challenge; he kissed him, hard and clumsy, biting his lip, and Kurt let out a low sound that was too close to a whimper.

Theyd been fighting.  Viciously.  There was blood crusting Todds nose to prove it.  And somewhere after strangling Todd against the wall of the alley Todd had felt Kurts erection against his hip, and suddenly the upper hand was his.

Ten after midnight.  The library basement.  Deserted, silent, dark.

Todd bit at Kurts jaw, nipping down his throat, and Kurt threw his head back, letting him.  Fingernails dug into Todds back and Todd reached the collar of the uniform, tugging it and momentarily unsure how to proceed.  He let his hands wander instead, scraping fingertips down Kurts flanks, up his thighs, down the line of his belly and skipping the metal of his belt, grabbing him unashamedly between the legs and making Kurt gasp and swallow noises.

Todd caught him by the front of the uniform and pulled, dragging Kurt away from the wall and making him stand, stupefied, in the middle of the room.  Kurt just looked at him, and reached out, trailing a hand down Todds chest.  Todd gripped Kurts belt and tugged it pointedly.  He had no idea how to get Kurt out of this getup.  Kurt blinked at him, then down at his hand.

No thinking, Fuzzy.  Out of it.

Kurt looked at Todds own belt, then unfastened and dropped the heavy XMen belt to the ground, peeling himself out of his uniform like a snake skin.  Todd looked at him a moment.  Without the benefit of clothes, Kurt looked less human.  And he apparently knew it.  Todd pushed him up against a table, knocking him back against the cardboard crates of books it held, and Kurt fell back onto it, tail lashing dangerously as cardboard crumpled under his shoulders.  Todd stepped in between his legs and Kurt growled warningly at the treatment, reaching up and yanking at Todds shirt, unwilling to be the only one undressed.  Kurt ripped the shirt up over Todds head and Todd put his arms up to accommodate, unprepared to fight this right now.  His belt buckle went next, and his jeans, and he pushed Kurt down, kissing him as viciously as they fought.

Kurts fang pierced the corner of Todds lip and Todd recoiled, cursing, tasting blood.  Kurt grinned, and as that tail wrapped around Todds leg he realized there was something off, something he was missing.  Kurt pulled him down again and kissed him, blood and all, fingers raking down his chest and sliding between his legs.  Todd swallowed a yelp as Kurts hand wrapped around him, feeling him out slowly.  Todd stammered a curse and dropped his forehead.

What are you gonna do? Kurt asked lowly, still touching him, torturously slow.

Todd hadnt planned that far.  And Kurts sudden cooperation was changing things.  He kissed him again, lip stinging, touching the bone of his hip and pushing Kurt uncomfortably down against the table and the cardboard boxes.  Kurt let go of him, and began a careful exploration of his face, his throat, and his chest.

Todd ghosted a hand over Kurts cock and past it, going to his ass and Kurt paused, breaking the kiss.  Todd looked at him.  After a moment Kurt nodded, then dropped his head back to stare at the black ceiling as Todd stuck his fingers in his mouth and coated them with spit and slime, bringing his hand back to Kurts ass and probing at him.  Kurts eyes rolled back to Todd and he snagged a hand around the back of his neck, dragging him back down to kiss him as Todd invaded him methodically with his fingers, making him squirm.  Kurt had tried very hard not to think about what that would feel like, lately.  Hed tried very hard not to think about a lot of things.

At some point Todd seemed to deem him ready, and suddenly stepped away, making Kurt protest.  Instead Todd grabbed Kurt by the shoulder and flipped him onto his belly, bent over the table.  Kurt squawked and tried to stand up, but Todd pressed him back down, muttering something and reaching around for his cock.  Then Kurt couldnt think of anything, as Todd pushed into him, slowly, and it ached, a dull stretch of muscle that made Kurt pant and brace his elbows under his ribs, dropping his forehead down against the crushed cardboard and the musty load of books.

Slowly Todd moved, keeping his hand around him, stroking in a rhythm that didnt quite match, and Kurt whimpered, jerking his hips to try to even it out as Todds cock found something inside him he didnt know was there, something that made his back arch and his fingernails dig into the tabletop.  Todd moved slowly, too slowly, and after a moment Kurt spat at him to go faster.

Todd hesitated, and moved faster.

There was a moment, as Kurt felt his orgasm building inside him like an unerupted volcano, that he panicked.  Todd didnt notice, or if he noticed, didnt stop.  Kurt came in Todds hand, spattering the concrete floor of the basement, and not long after, Todd followed.

Kurt felt Todds breath against the fur of his back.  He humped up to push Todd off of him, and Todd obediently stumbled back, giving Kurt room to straighten up.  They stared at each other in the dark room.  Todd looked away first.

They went about gathering their clothes, wordlessly, Todd struggling into his jeans with his butt against the table.  Kurt, stepping into his uniform with more difficulty than hed stepped out of it, watched him for a moment.  Then he moved towards him, and kissed him lightly on the lips.  Todd just blinked at him, stupid.

Next time. Kurt warned vaguely.

He disappeared.

2. Greed.

You really shouldnt do that anymore.

Todd stopped counting the bills to fix Kurt with a flat look. Do what, yo? he challenged.

Steal. Its not right.

It aint from you, it aint from yo friends, so who gives a rats prick? Todd snorted. Hed thrown the ID and wallet away already, which meant Kurt had no chance of at least returning the drivers license to the owner. Kurt looked away, scratching the back of his neck and clearly bothered.

Seriously, why do you care? Not like your ass is one the line if I get caught. Aint gonna waste my one call on you, so dont even worry bout it.

Thats not the reason, Kurt pressed. Its just . . .

He went no further, not sure how to. There was movement and he looked up as Todd put both hands against the wall on either side of Kurts head. Kurt moved away until his back was against a poster of Vampirella and still the other boy slunk closer to him.

Smatter? Worried my bout soul or somethin? Todd asked, all yellow grin and yellow eyes and Kurt flushed, whether at the implied insult or the close proximity he wasnt sure. Todd could be disgusting and downright rude and he didnt even need to steal money - not anymore.

Stealing because you were hungry and cold and out of luck was one thing, but the bills had been paid for months since Lance and Fred had gotten jobs. Now Tolensky just did it because he was bored and good at it. It wasnt right.

Todd was leaning forward and Kurt felt hot breath on his lips before they were claimed, surprisingly gentle.

Kurt broke the kiss. Dont. Dont kiss me. Not right now, he muttered.

There was silence for a long moment, during which they just breathed. Todd did not move and Kurt could feel the boys eyes on him. A questioning kiss to the corner of his mouth, demanding actually, and Kurt gave in with a sigh.

Todd was very good at getting what wasnt his.

3. Pride.

Todd had hurt his neck trying to twist it so that his nose wouldnt break against the wall. The collision caused him to bite the inside of his cheek and his mouth filled with blood.

So wanna tell us again what the fuck youre doing going through our lockers, Tolensky? The bigger boy had Todds arm behind his back and his sneakers were scrabbling for traction on the wet floor.

I told you! My lockers down here - I was lookin for my shit - AAAIGH! The jock pressed him harder against the shower wall and twisted sadistically. Todd distinctly heard his shoulder pop. And he thought hed get a break when Duncan had graduated out of here.

Cant remember where it is,? Thought maybe it was hiding in one of ours? The boy behind him sneered and the others laughed. Todd managed to make a face. That hadnt even made sense.

I just forgot which one it was, okay?! He squawked and then followed with a scream as a fist slammed into his kidney. Todds shriek trailed off into a pitiful wail, pinned as he was and unable to curl up on himself.

Shh, guys, one said urgently. The laughter stopped; Todd was able to hear footsteps. He tried to glance over his shoulder.

Hey, Wagner. Just havin a little talk with our friend. About stealing stuff. You dont mind, do you?

There was a pregnant pause. Todd squirmed. Kurt wasnt a fighter, but things werent hopeless yet. At best there would be a speech about peace and getting along and maybe while the jocks were distracted by all the stupidity, hed stomp on a foot and book it. Kurt wasnt their target, hed be fine.

His plans were disrupted as the jock behind him lifted him away from the tiles by his hair and slammed his face against them once more. Todd sputtered and coughed, trying to spit blood. Kurt needed to start talking now, he thought dizzily. He was spun around and caught a glimpse of Kurt, simply watching. The hell, man?

A fist to the gut doubled him over and another drove him to his knees. Todd scrambled, trying to get to his feet. A kick to the groin sent him down again and more followed. Todd curled up, arms over his face and crying out openly as their blows rained down. Kurt had yet to say a goddamned thing.

The beating petered out almost as quickly as it had begun. Todd regained enough control to try to stifle any noises, but failed - even after they were finished and hurling threats and lame jokes on their way out, he was still making them. Todd heard footsteps shuffle closer and a light touch. He jerked away, sending new waves of pain through his head and other unmentionable places, but the gesture worked. Kurt stood back and let Todd struggle painfully to his feet.

I stayed, Kurt said, defensively. I made sure they didnt hurt you too badly.

Th-The fuck, man?! Y-You just let them--! Todd stuttered and winced, his lip was cut badly and yelling hurt.

What did you want me to do? Fight them? I cant do that, theyre not mutants. And forget finding a teacher - I couldnt port in front of them and they wouldve stopped me if Id left, Kurt reasoned. Todd sneered at him. Sneering sort of hurt too, but it was worth it.

Guess I should be grateful you got my back. If they had tried to kill me, you mightve done something real bad ass - like maybe, whip out your cell phone and call their parents. Oooh. Todd waggled his fingers and snatched at a towel someone had left on a bench. He tried to wipe some of the blood off. You know,  I think you were more scared of losin your fancy watch. Thats why you didnt do shit.

Do you have any idea what theyd do to me if they saw what I really looked like? Kurt countered.

Yeah, exactly what they fuckin did to me, dawg! Todd spat. And you just stood there and watched! What, think I needed a lesson about not stealing!? Think that was the way to fuckin teach me?!

N-No! It had nothing to do with that, Kurt said vehemently, though he seemed to look sickened by the accusation at least.

Doesnt change the fact youre a prick! Todd yelled back, frustration boiling over. You pretend youre so fucking perfect and better than everyone else and youre really just a coward! I know Im a coward and a freak, I dont need to believe Im anything better!

His eyes were stinging and he could feel himself shake from more than the effort of standing upright. He mustve swayed because Kurt again reached out, trying to steady him. Todd turned his face away before he could let Kurt see him vulnerable in other ways; bastard had seen more than enough already.

J-Just fuck off, Wagner. Dont need your help now.

4. Gluttony.

Fingers dug into his hips, pushing Todd back across his room toward the bed. Todd seized handfuls of the other boys fur in an attempt regain control of the situation. He twisted skin, trying to swing Kurt onto the bed first so he could pin him. Kurt snarled in pain, caught Todds wrists and did not so much shove as fall on top of him onto the bed, going dead weight. Frantically Todd tried to squirm from under him, but Kurts eyes were almost glowing in the dark and he still held onto Todds wrists.

Kurt mustve seen panic and cared or something, because his lips brushed gently over Todds jaw. He kissed him again softly, fur tickling Todds face and throat until the boy wasnt sure if he wanted to beg or laugh. His body was responding to being pinned and a hot breath against his throat sent him to shuddering. No, he couldnt like this. He couldnt let Kurt know he liked this.

Todd gathered his legs up to kick Kurt off and was startled when Kurt anticipated the move, catching him under the knees and flipping him over on his stomach - a crude echo of their first time. Kurt put his weight on the small of Todds back, well out of kicking range and pinned his shoulders to the mattress. Your turn, Wagner almost hissed into his ear. Todd squirmed, for different reasons now, as a hand went between him and the mattress and undid his jeans. Kurt pushed them down as far as he could with one hand, not letting up on Todds back.

There were several ways he could end this now, Todd reflected. He could curse and refuse to cooperate and try to kick him until Kurt left. He could threaten, he could yell, he could cry. Tears would make Kurt back off immediately, make him gather his clothes while stammering apologies and then leave. Todd laid still on his stomach and weighed his options against the aching hardness between his legs. After a moment, he bit his lip and webbed fingers pushed his pants further down. He kicked them off the rest of the way, hearing them slide to the floor in a heap.

A hand touched his side gently, causing Todd to jolt in surprise. It went underneath his belly again, touching him, and Todd couldnt suppress a moan. His hips moved forward, trying to encourage Kurt, and the other boys fingers wrapped around him. He felt something brush against his ass and stiffened. Todd whimpered as he was probed and tried to steel himself for the friction of what was probably going to amount to being finger-fucked by a rug.

He panted and turned his face to the other side, fretfully. Kurt made a considering noise.  Todd felt his hand lifted and pulled back, fingers separated and Kurt took two of them into his mouth, sucking on them. The command could not have been clearer than if Kurt had articulated it. Needlessly, he pressed Todds slick fingers against his entrance, causing the boy to squirm again.

Aight, I get it, I get it, Todd panted, face flushed with humiliation and something else. He worked his own fingers in until Kurt tugged lightly at his wrist. One hand on Todds hip and the other still gripping his erection, which hadnt flagged at all, Kurt moved back to position himself. Todd didnt kick him, and truthfully couldnt bring himself to because that would end this quicker than he wanted it to end. God, he was fucked up, but he wanted it - he wanted Kurt to be the one to do this to him and this was not normal and it was not supposed to mean anything - but it did.

Todd pressed back as Kurt slid inside him and it hurt every bit as much as he feared it would. Todds legs were trembling before Kurt even pulled out to move his hips forward again. The pain danced all the way up his spine, but his own hips moved with a dance of their own, pumping desperately into Kurts fist - which was not moving. He must have made some sort of frustrated noise at Kurts  lack of finesse, because Kurts thumb brushed over the tip of Todds erection and he squealed, reaching back blindly with one arm to grip at Kurts arm or leg or anything he could reach to just hold on.

He wanted this, oh fuck, he wanted it - more, more - and it wasnt enough, dammit, please just touch there, harder, harder, make it hurt -

Kurt stopped Todds arm, but his fangs found Todds shoulder and the smaller boy screamed, almost thrashing underneath him - but not to get away. He doubled over underneath Kurt, attempting to rub himself against the coverlet if  the damn elf wasnt going to do anything other than that stupid thing with his thumb, and Kurt took it as encouragement to go faster.

Todd writhed and squealed again as Kurt hit a spot inside him and he strained to move in a position that might catch it again. Kurts hand wasnt even trying to match rhythm with his thrusts, but the new angle his hips were tilted more than made up for it. Todd lost himself and held himself up by the elbows, shuddering and panting, while Kurt kept at it. He grit his teeth and held his hips up, forcing himself not to go limp as Kurt trembled to completion. Kurt gave him one last gentle bite and wrapped his arms around Todds waist. He pulled back, licked his lips and leaned in to Todd again.

Having some trouble regulating his breathing, Todd felt Kurts lips touch his neck and turned toward him, hiding his face in Kurts shoulder. Post-sex cuddling had never appealed to Todd, and he didnt know if that held true for Kurt either. Kurt didnt pull away, even when Todd raised his face and kissed him, actually meaning something with it this time though he didnt have a clue as to what exactly. His heart was hammering hard enough to almost hurt as he searched Kurts face. After what seemed like forever, Kurt looked down at him and swallowed.

Are . . . Are you alright? he asked. Todd blinked, confused.

Of course he was alright. It had hurt and it had been humiliating and for a moment, he had belonged to someone - to Kurt. Todd had been his. It was fucked up, but he was okay with that, really, so long as he could have more.

What a stupid question.

Then the fog around Todds brain seemed to clear up. Enough for him to realize that it hadnt meant a thing besides a fantastically good fuck to Kurt. Todd tried to breathe and discovered that he couldnt quite manage it. Feeling stupid, he started to pull away from Kurt, only to feel the elf stiffen and then mutter to himself in a panic.

Its almost eleven, Logan is going to kill me dead. I have to go.

Kurt pushed Todd back by the shoulders and kissed him quickly - a half-assed apology, or something else, Todds mind buzzed the question.

And then he was gone, leaving smoke in a dark room and a heart trying desperately to close up its bent folds once again.

5. Sloth

The note stuffed in the locker vent.  Such a classic high school move.  Kurt picked the folded piece of notebook paper out of the slots, glancing around cautiously before unfolding it.  It had been fifteen minutes since classes had let out, and he had the hallway mostly to himself.  He suspected he didnt need anyone reading this over his shoulder; the dirty thumbprint of the folded square was as good as a signature, as far as he was concerned.

Todds printing was memorable and blocky, the pencil smudged.

ALLEY BEHIND BOWLORAMA
1AM TONIGHT
ITS IMPORTANT

It would be.  He glanced over it again, rereading a message short enough he already had it memorized.  It was important.  And he knew why.

Kurt!

The voice was cheerful, bright, undeniably female.  Kurt turned.  Amanda was marching down the hall to him, grinning with her binder clutched to her chest.  Kurt smiled back, reflexively crumpling the note in his fist.  He dropped it into the junk in his locker and closed the door.

Amanda, chattering brightly, took his elbow, and they walked together.

6. Wrath

There was a certain logic to these things.  The Brotherhood had been expelled.  Therefore, to balance out the expulsion, the Brotherhood was in the Principals office late on a Tuesday night, wrecking the place.  The wreckage was oozing a little further than the office, but that was okay.  It brought balance and order to the universe.  Todd, master of the spray can, was out in the hallway, graffiting his sentiments about the school system on the walls and lockers, while Freddy did some creative rearrangement of furniture and Pietro looked for dirty little secrets in the Principals desk.  Hed been hoping to find something nasty, like kiddy porn, but all hed come up with so far was a bottle of bourbon, enough to share out a shot.

I hear somebody! Pietro hissed abruptly, dropping the bourbon bottle on the desk.  Mostly empty, it spattered a few drops on the blotter and rolled off the side, thudding on the carpet but not breaking.  Todd, in the hallway, saw them first.  It was no janitor, no teacher come by late to pick up a forgotten laptop.  It was XMen.  Come in the same door they themselves had forced.  Todd finished the last letter on his obscenity and fell back in line as the others moved out of the office into the hallway, forming two opposing phalanxes, face to face.  If Todd was going to bet, hed put his money on the Brotherhood.  They were pissed.  The XMen were just feeling superior.

Alright guys, Scott said, touching his glasses pointedly.  Thats enough.  This isnt the way to deal with Principal Kelly.

Yeah, fuck you, Summers.  Pietro sneered back, shifting from foot to foot.  He was ready for a fight.  He was raring for a fight.  Are you here to stop us?  Cause ah, I dont think you brought a big enough army. He grinned.

Todd caught sight of Kurt, hunched down like a dog behind Summers, watching them carefully.  He wasnt watching Todd, though.  He should be watching Todd.  Todd scowled in annoyance, ready to launch at him.  Just say the word.  Say the word.

This doesnt have to be a fight.  Summers said warningly, keeping his voice even.

Yeah.  I think it does.  Lance said.  If itll get you the hell out of my face!

The earth began to tremble, and that was apparently the cue.  Ranks broke on both sides and Todd launches like a missile, slamming into Kurt and sending him rolling down the hallway with an undignified squawk.  He still had a spraycan in his hand, and he used it to clock Kurt soundly on the temple before Kurt got his wits to him and flipped Todd off, sending him into the lockers.  Todd slid down and righted himself on the floor, sitting up as Kurt hovered warily on the perimeter.  The boy immediately got a faceful of red spraypaint.  Kurt howled and knocked the can away, tackling Todd blindly and hitting him, fist connecting with his jaw.  He pulled back to strike again and Todd spat, covering Kurts face in thick, unyielding goo.  Kurt recoiled, and disappeared, reappearing some distance down the hallway, away from the fighting, to pry the gunk off his face.  Todd didnt give him a break.  He shouted and charged at him, not giving Kurt a chance to breathe.

Kurt disappeared and reappeared behind him, finally managing to get the slime off his nose and mouth and slinging the stuff at the wall.  Todd tackled him, and they rolled, scrabbling tactlessly at each other before Todd kicked Kurt off and towards the ceiling.  Kurt disappeared before slamming into the plaster, reappearing around the corner of the hall.  Todd stalked after him, leaving the others behind.

Were back to beating each other up? Kurt asked, slouched down in a defensive posture as Todd moved very nearly into range.

Looks that way to me.  Todd sneered, kicking at him, but Kurt jumped back.  Havent heard from you in three FUCKING weeks, dawg.  You got that little black bitch following you around now.

Her name is Amanda. Kurt said warningly.

Like I care.

Todd attacked, and Kurt dodged, catching him on the rebound and hitting him in the stomach.  Todd snagged Kurt and slammed him down into the floor, sitting on his chest and hitting him in the face, one, two, three, four times, before Kurt managed to get his tail around Todds neck and squeeze, pulling him back.  Todd scrabbled at the restricting tail and Kurt kicked him in the ribs, getting to his feet and releasing Todd.  Todd gasped for air and stumbled back to a safe radius, glaring poisonously.

You just traded up, didnt you, jackass.  Todd spat, rubbing his throat.

Well look what I was trading.  Kurt sneered.

Like youre some prize!  Todd shouted, hackles up.  Some holier-than-thou fuckhead!  Always better than me!  Couldnt even stoop to tell me we were through!

There was nothing to tell!  Kurt shouted back, envenomed.  How could we be through when we never were to begin with!  There was nothing there, Todd!  Nothing!  Ever!  I cant end something that never was!

He was lying.  Todd realized it almost immediately.  And he couldnt think of one good reason for Kurt to do it except to hurt him.  Suddenly boiling, Todd roared and launched himself at Kurt, catching him by surprise and slamming him into the lockers, hitting him before theyd even stopped moving.  Kurt retaliated, and suddenly Todds face was bleeding.  He spit a mouthful of bloody slime at Kurts face but Kurt moved away, wrapping his tail around both of Todds legs to immobilize him.

Todd was too angry to fight well, and Kurt was too personal to fight like an XMen.  They scuffled like schoolboys.  Back on the dirty tiles, Todds vision turned red as Kurt strangled him, Kurts face contorted with fury and Todds hyoid beginning to give.  Panicking, Todd slammed a palm into Kurts nose, sending him reeling back with a fountain of blood in his face.  Todd tried to stand, failed, and tried again.

Blood dying his teeth red, Kurt grabbed Todd by the front of his shirt and slammed him back into the lockers, hissing through the blood and spattering Todds face with red flecks.  Todd flinched his eyes shut thoughtlessly as Kurt slammed him again, and again, just focusing on breathing.  There was a pause as Kurt seethed; the bubbling sound of blood and breath.

Something crushed against his mouth and Todds eyes flew open, aware only after it was begun that Kurt was kissing him, violently, the taste of someone elses blood mixing with his own in his mouth.  When Kurt pulled back for a moment Todd gasped, filling his shocked lungs with air, but then Kurt was on him again, kissing him and biting his abused lip too hard, breaking the skin with his fang and drawing more blood.

Kurt was

Kurt

Todd abruptly slammed a forearm up against Kurts throat, pushing at him and forcing him to either pull back or strangle.  Kurt moved back with a gasp and stared defiantly at him, something in his eyes making Todds stomach twist.  It hurt, to look at him, red with paint and blood and an indefinable look that made Todd want to

He hurt him, instead.  He pulled back and punched Kurt as hard as he could, sending the boy reeling back to cover his face with his hand.  Todd glared at him, teeth bared and blood still dripping, fists made up at his sides and daring him to move again.  Kurt touched his bloody face and looked at the stain it left on his hand.  He looked down at the floor.  He said nothing.

Todd snorted, and spat at the floor at Kurts feet.  He turned and walked back towards the Brotherhoods fight, refusing to look back at him.  Kurt didnt look up, either, just kept his head down, blood dripping slowly on the tiles.

7. Envy

Bitch.

She walked by with that perfect smile, that light little laugh, the sun reflecting delicately off her hair and making her glow.  And he walked by, smiling, bruises invisible under the hologram and laughing with her.

Bitch.

Todd, invisible in the branches of the tree leaned out, scowling lopsidedly with one eye bruised shut.  Summer, in the park.  And they looked so happy.  And her, she didnt even know.  She didnt even suspect.

Bitch.  Fucking bitch.

Figured theyd come here.  One place Todd had come to hide and they found it without even meaning to, wandering right into him like blind dogs.  The cozy pair found the bench not far down the path and sat down on it, Amandas hand immediately finding Kurts and twining their fingers, leaning into his undoubtedly sore shoulder.  Kurt just smiled at her.  Sweetly.  Indulgently.

Oh, he wanted to kill them.

She was chattering something.  Todd couldnt make it out, from this distance, but Kurt mumbled something back.  She leaned her head on his shoulder and sighed, relaxing against him, comfortable and beautiful and real.  Todd tightened his grip on his branch, teeth clenching.  Kurt didnt deserve her.  Though she might deserve a fucker like him.

They were listening to the birds.  Amanda seemed to drift, looking at places far beyond the park, and Kurt looked up, scanning the trees with purpose.  Todd hunched back into the leaves, trying to disappear.  Kurts eyes scanned him, saw him, stuck to him.  Todd straightened and stared back, breathing a little harder.

Kurt gave him a flat smirk that didnt reach his eyes.  Todds stomach twisted and he made himself swallow.

After a long, painful moment, Kurts eyes slid away, and he looked back to Amanda.  Trapped, Todd slumped against the trunk of the tree and watched them, heart pounding, miserable, stuck.
