Bikes in public skateparks

Of all other "extreme" sports, bikes are considered a larger hazard than the skatepark itself. In the minds of those who are run by assumption and ignorance; consequently, those who are mainly parents and guardians, city officials, and especially the government do not understand the whereabouts of how a skatepark is naturally ridden, naturally taken care of, and naturally operated. There is much concern of the different "extreme" sports sharing the same skatepark at the same time; unfortunately, those who are concerned are heard much more clearly than those who have no problem with sharing the skatepark. With that in mind, how many skateparks in California alone allow skateparks??? There are more and more skateparks fit for all types of "extreme" sports to ride on at the same time, but more than 75% of skateparks, public or company owned, do not allow bicycles. There is much to be learned about this not only from statistics, but most importantly, the riders of BMX.

The parents and guardians of the young children who attend the skateparks assume that they will be safe enough to not get seriously hurt and get sent to the hospital with a broken bone. The possibility of breaking a bone can happen anywhere. If bruises, cuts and scratches, and the possibility of breaking bones are not wanted, then don't have your young children do any "extreme" sports. Although you want your child to have fun and let them do what they like, it is not worth the worry that there is a huge possibility of your child getting hurt in some way or form. Open your minds and swallow your over-protective thoughts of your child's choice of sports and look at what they choose to do for a good time. The reason these activities were labeled as "extreme" is because not any human would do it. The constant pain and suffering to get better is part of the whole ordeal. People need to practice and learn how to control their bodies and instruments for the respective sport that they do. This is also a reason why in-line skaters, skateboarders, and stunt bike riding are considered sports. If they understand that they will have to endure a lot of pain and suffering when learning and chooses to keep going, then let them journey on.

Public skateparks that have "No bicycles or BMX allowed." in their rules and regulations signs are easily put in by the city. Although the park does not allow bicycles, bikers will still go and ride it. Public usually means open, everywhere or everyone, and not private.

If knowing that obvious fact, then why the discrimination against bicycles???? Even though we have heavy metal parts, it does not mean that we will be careless and throw our bikes into a large crowd. The parts on our bikes are also worth money and throwing our bikes would be just throwing money away.
The best way to look at the situation would be the X-Games. The many "extreme" sports all together at the same event sharing the same ramps. I guarantee you that many of the pro bike riders still ride in skateparks that have bikes, skateboarders, and in-liners ride all at the same time.
