| ~FEAST~ your eyez this way............ | ||||||||||||||||
| Tomorrow night is Adelaide's annual opening night of the FEAST festival. (South Australia's GLBTI Festival) A collective effort of talent and volunteers, workers, and patrons, Together with sponsers and many efforts of many people, it is a time of year of celebration and arts amoung the GLBTI community. I must admit i have never been to one yet since i moved here in feb/march this year, and im so looking forward to geting out and letting my hair loose (sideburns and mustaki anyway) *S* | ||||||||||||||||
| Its 5 pm, we just got back from the beach, frolicking around in the water, terrorising the locals with much summer energy. I cant wait for tomorrow, its been so long since i went out in drag.....promise to post some photo's and a review of the opening night of Feast. For now its prep time. We have had our post beach showers and have gathered once again to dye our fury bits and make plans for tomorrow's fashion and facial hair styles *S* God i wish i had real sideburns....what a treat :) Sean has wicked facial hair, bastard! Diana Goanna has gone to get fish and chips and i must say....she is as sexy as ever *S* | ||||||||||||||||
| *Big sighs* What a night!!! about 2000 people showed up in all sorts of atires and attitudes, the opening night was great! all the mingling and mincing of all the locals and performers....i must admit i thought there would be a larger selection of talent playing short parts of their performances for the Festival but it was a medium sized area and they were probably not able to host much more than what they did... I take my hat off to the community that came out to support the event and to those who had the courage in warm weather to frock up!!! We were all stunned at seeing so many people come out of the woodwork in this dusty town......Adelaide sure is a surprise sometimes. | ||||||||||||||||
| We joked about the price of alchohol on our way there and behold by the time we felt like a nice cool bev, alas! it was true...the price of alchohol was *ahem* well......lets just say..........Bloody ridiculous! Excuse the french ladies. I think the price is a definate way to reimburse the costs it takes to put a shin dig on but sweet jesus, talk about hitting us where it hurts....especially if your apart of the strugling students and artists that make up a good portion of the community. |

| Ahhh enough bitching, we should all be gratefull and proud that these events are happening and the support goes a long way!
