Binding tips and how to's:
Binding (Strapping down the chest area)

The most up to date and effective/easiest method i have recently been able to afford is an "abdominal buinder or thoracic binder" which should be available from your "orthotics" dep: at any hospital for a cost of around $60au

Even better is a binder i found just recently at Morris Designs in America. Its called the no velcro gyno vest and it is brilliant!

They are much better than ace bandages, especially for the larger guys out there.

When caring for them, don't hang them up, just lay them out to dry after hand washing, as they will lose their tesnsity and shape if you hang them to much on the clothes line etc.

Or the old fashioned way of using ace bandages, which for larger guys can be quite painfull.

How to do it with Ace bandages: wrapped carefully and firmly around the chest pushing chest flesh up and under the arms if possible. If you have a friend to help this is always a good thing, if not, persist and be patient...try different wrapping techniques and you will be fine.  When it comes to the width of the bandage(usually there are more than one size) I would choose the larger width available to avoid wrinkling and movement.
Wrapping an ACE bandage:

Check the skin where you will be putting the wrap. It should be clean and dry.

Always start with a rolled-up bandage.

Begin at a far end.

Try to avoid wrinkles in the bandage.

Wrap it in the position you want maintained.

Make sure you are aware of your circulation so you can ease up or tighten as you need. This is probably the most inportant factor that contributes to injury.

If you lose the clips that come witrh the bandage you can use adhesive tape to hold it in place.

If you feel colder than usuall and have diminished sensation or concerning pain, losen the bandage.

If you are going to re use the bandage i would suggest to take care of it, roll it up everytime your finished with it and keep it in general clean standards.
Sports Bra's are a help, if i use them i usually use one that is 2-3 sizes smaller than usuall to get a real tight feel and bind flatter. Bear in mind that any technique you use to bind, you should remember to think about how long you are wanting to bind for so you can alter the technique to atleast not cause you injury. There have been and probably always will be uncomfortable times but avioding injury can be easy, just parctice, be aware and think about things before you do them.
Usually i will use a spoarts bra 2 sizes smaller and then bind with ace bandage on top of that with a tight shirt or singlet over that. Bearing in mind that i am a large person, broad shoulders, big build, and for us Dude's its alot harder and difficult to bind in perfection because of our size so you smaller d00d's out there should have it reletively easier when using binding techniques.

My only other suggestion to the "Larger" d00d is to possibly lose a bit of weight if possible, this is the most sure fire way of reducing chest size if your big around the chest i find.

If losing a bit of weight is not an option than practice with what ever techniques work and if you find a great one be sure to post it to me to update the information for our fellow readers , Cheers Drago
