Little Man
August 2, 2002 -August 23, 2002
Schuyler (My daughter, she's 11 and has the wisdom of an 80 yr old) was my rock . If it weren't for this more then awesome child I don't know how I would have gotten through the day.
Like a friend  said it best, "She see's things different then most people do."
I told Schuy that Little Man would probably not be coming home with us, he would be euthanized. She just looked at me and said OK.
I wasn't sure how things were going to go, I felt like this was a lot for an 11 yr old to deal with.
Well, on the drive to the vet, Schuy lifted Little Man out of the basket. As she did she said to him, "Come here you special Little Man. I want to tell you something.

Schuyler's words: (word for word as I remember, they will always ring in my ears)
"You are one lucky Little Man. You are going to your new home today most likely. Oh Little Man, you will love it there, your sick little body will be all better soon. There is green, green grass to play and run on and rainbows to play around. There will be a lot of other kinds of puppies to play with too.
And the best part is your new Dad. He let us enjoy you for a while, but now he wants you back home.
He love's you very much and will take very good care of you. Tonight Little Man, you will get a halo of gold and the sweetest little wings will grow on your back, and your new Dad will call you Little Man Angel Dog.
You will always sleep in your new dad's hands or his lap and you will always feel safe and warm.
You are a special puppy because your new Dad chose you to come home to heaven and live with him and the angels.
Your new Dad's name is God and he already loves you very very much."

Then she just held him and sat quietly, while I on the other hand, was doing my best to drive the car and BREATH!
She never shed a tear for him on the way. Like stated before, as far as she was concerned he was going home.
