Well here is what I did:
I checked the roof for weak spots by climbing up onto the roof. Be
careful doing this you don't want to fall off the roof. Also don't
put your full weight down on any section of the roof until you
test it for weakness. I did this by pressing down gentally in the
area under test. When I was satified that it was in good shape I
moved on until the whole roof was checked for weeknesses.
Then I wire brushed and scraped all the seams to remove the old
roof caoting and rust. Then I layed down a liberal coating of Kool
Seal roof sealent on all of the seams and flashings. After this
coating setup and was dry according to the manufacture directions
I put on some of the Kool Seal roof coating.
I used a brush to work the Roof Sealent into the seam cracks. Make
sure you aply a liberal coating, you want to seal up all of the
leaks.
Then use a roller to aply the roof coating and make sure that you
aply an even coating of it.
