THE HOSTA PAGE
Back to Folige Plants Page
I seem to have aquirred more Hostas than any other genus of plants. Although not obsessed, well
not just yet as a lack of growing space hinders this, they are one of  my favourite genus and the
diversity of size, leaf shape and form and colouration makes tham ideal both as a collectors plant
and as great planting companions in a multitude of schemes and situations.
This is a list of my current cultivars. You will notice that not all of them are featured as photographs,
the reason for this is two-fold. 1. Some of the plants are still small and have'nt produced the full
leaves that are so impressive on mature specimens. 2. A combination of a massive hail storm just as
the main leaves had unfurled and then a very wet period of weather and a resultant explosion in
the local snail population has left quite a few of my plants in a less than photogenic state !

The vast majority of my plants have come from 2 excellent nurseries both of which have web sites -
Bowden's Hostas
Park Green Nursery
These specialist nurseries have huge collections of plants available for all situations, colours and sizes.
With a vast experience of growing hostas their advice is second to none and with their contacts
they also tend to have the latest American hybrids before anyone else.
