This picture shows one of the carriages that make up the teleferico of Merida. It is the longest and highest cable journey in the world. You should take the ride in the morning to avoid the clouds. There are four separate trips before you reach the top of the Pico Espejo at 4,765m. It is breathtaking and fun.

The waterfall on the left is the legendary Angel Falls. It is reached from Canaima by motorized launch in two days. The picture that you can see was taken in January, in the dry season. The falls are sparse at this time, and it is a lottery whether or not the launches will navigate the river. The better period to visit the falls is during the wet period, October is the best month. The falls were wrapped in cloud when I visited, and only briefly appeared into view.

The last picture on this page is from the island of 'Francisqui', looking towards La Gran Roque. Los Roques are reached from Caracas via plane, which takes about 45 minutes. They are a group of coral island, with white beaches, sun, and great snorkeling and diving. The accommodation on La Gran Roque is over priced, yet the day trips to the islands are superb.
