These leaves represent the autumn colours that appear in Tasmania
every year. The trees start to change from March until June, when the winter officially begins. Tasmania is a highly seasonal place, and one that demonstrates distinct periods as the weather shapes the natural
environment. One of the great joys of visiting and living is Tasmania is the purity of the air, and the relative lack of industrial development.

This spectacular view is the famous Wine Glass bay at dawn. We trekked over the small hill to see this special place as the sun rose. It is located on the east coast of Tasmania in the Freycinet
National Park, that is a haven to many native species and plants.

This last picture on our first Tasmania page is another world heritage site. It is called the
Cradle mountain, and is in a national park of the same name. We went to the park in October, just after fresh snow. It is fairly straightforward to get to from the north of
Tasmania along well paved roads.
