The actions of the human Jesus are in many ways the same as the average human being. Jesus believed in the idea of love and good graces towards ones neighboor. He tells us to "love your enemies," and to "turn our cheeks" to those who hate us. He does not believe in abolishing the Old Testament practices, but he see's the reality of healing the lame on the Sabath as not really brreaking any moral codes. He believes in one God, his father, and came to pass on what his true words are. Throughout Luke, the reader sees miracle after miralce of healing the sick from the leapers to dead sons. This reveals the human sense of Jesus, though the fact that he uses his Godly side to fulfill his very human nature of pity and compassion to his peers. Also you see anger and natural human emotion in his actions. He is logical when the devil tests him and uses his human taught knowledge of the Bible to counteract the devil. I think so many people back then and today followed him because he taught love and Faith instead of codes and regulations. He is teaching us to become a better person rather than jsut fulfilling a checklist to get into heaven. As a teacher, he pardons sinfulness and gives the outcast a sense of dignity back, instead of just condeming them. Jesus assoiciates himself with the lowest of the low, not with the highest and influentual people. His humblness installs a sense of truthfullness in his words and actions that he is not just being hypocritical. People throughout the years have kept his memory alive because he touched people on a personal level and added a new and ever molding additon of true Faith to their lives. His teachings inspire hope and allow people to see the good in all things. Again, Faith is not or ever will be a checklist of procedures, instead it is a flurishing relationship between oneself and God. Life according to Jesus should be lived in persuit of heaven. Like Lazarus, the least of the least can enjoy eternal grace if they are pure in their actions, and that temptations are even present in the son of God's own life, and that we may become anrgy sometimes but if we seek goodness we will live forever. Love is the most important aspect of life. Also Jesus in his life treated woman as equals, and he came to teach Faith not Religion. Overall, Jesus was a man of great humanity as he led the Christians as a human and as a God. |
