| 1. Summary of the key idea of the section | |||||||||||||||
| The key idea of this section is how the morality of Jesus is an essentail part of all of us in a certain way. C.S. Lewis explained this complex notion in "Mere Christianity," as all people throughout the world have this iniate notion of how we should treat others. While we many times do not follow these "rules," we all seem to have a sense of them and if we do not follow them,we attempt to rationalize our misbehaviors or play the ignorance card. The morality of Jesus is simply layed out by the Sermon on the Mount as we are taught the beatitudes, and learn the golden rule. Finally, the Weapons of the Spirit video put this morality into action in a dire moment of human history, to show that even in the toughest of times Jesus' morality has a great application. | |||||||||||||||
| 2. Give and explain three of the most important ideas you want to remember. a. The first truely imporant idea I want to take from this section is C.S. Lewis' ideas on humans. I think that his ideas on how we should treat others, that is installed in each of us, helps us to not only look equally towards all people but also to better understand the human condition. The idea that we are all born with a notion on the way we should act helps us to strengthen ones argument for one ultimate creator with a plan. b. The second major idea is the overall theme from the Weapons of Spirit video. I find that the triumph of the human spirit in such a harsh setting is a great lesson for us all to learn. They took the basic idea from the story of the judgement of nations and applied it to the modern day. This helps show me how the Bible can be a practical guide in my life here and now to follow the morality of Jesus. c. The last major idea I remember is the reading of the Jugdement of Nations bible passage. This reading says we are to basically take care of the least amongst us because in that situation that is Jesus. I can apply this into my life today when I see kids getting bullied or poor people on the street, I can treat them as if they are Jesus and truely think about their well-being. |

| A Christian is someone who believes in the Holy Trinity and all the different parts of it. They attempt to all be followers or disciples of Jesus and his morality in every aspect of their life. I think I am partially a Christian. I try to behave in the manner presented by this moral teaching but many times I find it difficult to believe in a all powerful natural being, or his all powerful natural son, or some divine spirit. Also, in many instances I find that I do not know exactly know what Jesus taught us based on our pre-sermom survey. Yet I still believe the parts of the Bible and Jesus' teachings affect me and help me to become a better person. | |||||||||||||||
| To make myself a better Christian I can dedicate myself to a closer study and understand of what Jesus really said, and how this applies in my life today. If I do not know or understand what he teachs then why would I say I am a Christian. Also I need to make sure I treat all people how I would want to be treated, as many times I find myslef being very hypocritical in this subject. | |||||||||||||||
