| 1.One paragraph summarizing the major topic of the week. The major topic of this section has been how the major religious teachings throughout the world and their similarities, help us to explain the major aspects of the human conditions. The major similarities of the world religions such as moral teachings, moderation of things like alcohol and sexuality, etc., show us that every human throughout time and the world seek common goals. The great minds of each decade noticed these aspects of the human condition, and put together similair teachings and guidelines. The major topic of this section helps to reinforce our past study of the human condition, and helps to connect the ancient people with today's. |

| 2.Summarize three key ideas from the world religions: The idea of Chung tzu from Confucianism helps show me how the values of ancient Chinese society and today can be fused together to help me become a more mature and able person. By following and truely understadning the idea of Chung tzu, I can better embody Jen, benevolence, and become a mature and confident person in my life. The second major idea I want to take away from this study is jihad. Jihad is the internal and external struggle between good and evil. Even though I am a Christian, I can still apply this to my own life and Igantion teachings. I need to understand that I need to constantly be examining and reexaming the evil that can creep into my life and actions, and fight against them to keep them out. The last major idea I want to take away is the idea of the Four Noble Truths. These truths can relate very well to the human nature in each of us and how suffering cannot be avoided and instead is an aspect we must deal with and attempt to conqure. A life of moderation is a key aspect that not only disagrees with the consumeristic values of today's society but tells us that that is the cause for our suffering. |

| Why do so many people take hostile actions against other religions when they all seem to really take the same stance on human affairs and teach moral goodness? | ||||||||||||||
| From this study of religion I think I can have a more open outlook on people in different religions and not hold any hostilities against them for being different. I can truely realte to them on a spiritual level knowing that our customs while slightly different are developing ourselves to better the community and others around us. I know that if others understood these similarities, we as humans would be more at peace in the world. | ||||||||||||||
