The central theme of this section centers around the need to study morality and how this study affects each individual. The idea of the right speech experiment helps people to gain truth about themselves, and how in reality our actions show much more about us than our words and how we perceive ourselves. Also, the study of morality helps us to recongize the important messages of literature, music, and movies and how we can incorpotae those values into our own belief system. The idea of morality in our lives helps to promote mankind in the direction of an objetive morality where we can all establish a norm for good and evil. |

This song helps me to reflect the dangers of prejudging and stereo typing towards other races, Also I find that it can help me to put myslef in others shoes to attempt to know and understand where they are coming form on points and why they believe in it. |

I find that from one of my friends I am beginning to pick up his sarcasim and expresions that sometimes I wish I jsut saying nothign at all instead. I find that the sarcasim is sometimes a little too quick and can come off to poeple as a little harsh if they don't know me very well. Sarasm many times is jsut a way for me to bolster my own self images and the expense of others, and I'm beginning to realize the dangers of words. Those who know me understand that I'm jsut joking but others could jsut see me as a joke. |

Why do people do wrong? |

I think people do worng to make themselves seem higher or comform more to societies standards. Also, I believe that people do wrong because many times they have not formed their consciences well enough and they honestly don't know that it is wrong. I know that I lie and do wrong things for many reasons, even when I know they are wrong. I do it just because is the best answer I can give. I do it becasue all my principles go out the door sometimes when I'm faced with new and challenging situations when my beliefs are not that deeply rooted in me yet. I do generally beleive that people are good and that no one wants to do wrong though. I think it is human nature to be sinful at times, so I know that I must be forgiving towards people because I know I would want them to be forgiving towards me. |

When I see myself starting to be dishonest or immoral how can I stop myself ? |

|
|
|
|
To be a more moral person from this chapter, I can use the truths of the right speech experiment to better myself and my ways of thinking in general. Also, I can be honest with myself and other and avoid tellign white lies of using Euphamisms becuase I am scared of what the truth might bring. |
