Update: 12-21-99 Well, I had an accident back in mid-November. There was a light pole in the middle of the freeway at night and guess who ran straight over it. It was here in Ft. Worth on the north freeway at the Northside Drive Exit. Somebody had already hit it and knocked it onto the freeway right before I got there. BAM!!! I saw it but it was too late. Yep, crushed 2 of my wheels on the passenger side and bent the other 2 (PICS). Anyway, blew out the tires and made the car swerve and hit the guard rail. The rear quarter panel, fuel door, and rear bumper were damaged(MORE PICS). When I finally came to a stop, other cars started pulling over. They hit it too. There were 10 of us! This guy behind me said that the right side of my car went airborne! So it's been in the shop for the past month and a half. They found alot of suspension components damaged also. They already did the body work, painted the whole rear end, and even put new logos. Should be ready tomorrow. So I was told.

Anyway, they reimbursed me for the wheels and I didn't even have them covered. I got $2300 for the wheels and tires. My agent  told me that the first accident is forgiven as long as I stay with my insurance co. next year. So far, they have spent $6200 on it.  So, I tried to buy another set of wheels from Cali, where I got the first set. But the guy told me they were discontinued where they made them, in Japan. So I looked ALL over the net, but he was right. So now I ordered a set of 18x8.5 Antera 143 chromies. They cost more, exactly the price I was reimbursed for the wheels AND tires. Now I have to wait to get rubber. But I'm going to get the Antera wheels widened half an inch to 9 inches  like my Kosei wheels. I get the wheels next week.  Not bad considering I had big knots in 2 tire sidewalls, 3 scraped wheels with the chrome peeling off, and body damage on the passenger side already. And I don't have to pay the full $500 deductable(don't know why, don't want to ask). And then my girl's going to buy my tires for me. Good deal!

Next mod is to drop it and install white face gauges. If you want to know where to get a good set, let me know.

Update: 5-7-00  Whoo! Been a long time since I've updated anything on my site.
Well I've gotten my new wheels(pics coming) and everything fixed on my car. But the front suspension is making noises now over bumpy roads and the body work and paint suck. I'm taking it back. They did a very unprofessional job. And this is a body shop and frame specialist that my local Mitsu dealer(Huggins) uses (they suck too)! Installed the white face gauges(pics coming) and they are so fuckin' sweet. Got 'em from www.nrauto.com. More light passes through them than the stock black faces, making it brighter. The dash was unbolted and pulled back a few inches to get to the center pod gauges. What-a-bitch! Now if they would only make the Indiglo gauges for our cars. Still haven't dropped the car though and it's about that time. Tired of the 4x4 look. I've also installed
red and blue LEDs in my passenger door buttons since they're not factory illuminated. Just a neat project to do since I was bored and learning electronics at school. Works well and adds a neato touch ;)  Next project I'd like to try is neon tubing in the tail lights. Like the Lincoln Mark VIII. I don't know if it'll glow(ooh purty)  like the Lincoln's(I'm hoping it will), but at worst it'll react instantly like the LEDs in the 3rd brake light.

Update: 7-19-00 Well looky here. Too busy to visit my own site!  Not much has happened since my last update(over 2 months ago!). But I did have A/C problems for the past 2 weeks in my car. I thought I'd whip this chick's ass that was playing with me on the freeway. She was in one of those new Toyota MR2 Spyders. What a sweet, but ugly car. Sweet cause it's a Toyota(those cars rule), but ugly as hell! Anyway! After I raced her, I mean, tore her ass up(it was just for fun, for both of us) the air stopped blowing cold. The green light on the A/C button was still on but no cold. When I got home I found a burnt fuse for the A/C clutch, so I replaced it,  then pop! Blew out too. Then another. I had a short somewhere. It took a couple of weeks and advice from a Mitsubishi tech(Frank, whom I met on a message board) from Arizona to find the problem. He suggested the A/C compressor clutch itself. He told me that sometimes the magnet coil spins on the compressor, pulling and shorting the wire that goes to the magnet.  So I bought one for a discount through my job(dealership) from a Mitsu dealer, $235(list-$325). Replaced it and I was good to go. Up here in TX it has been in the lower 100s for a week now(probably ain't shit to some of you). It was hard trying to look cool in a nice car with the windows rolled down, acting like "This heat don't bother me, I want the windows down". But it's hard when sweat's pouring off your face and you're collecting it in a glass to drink.
