Comments On This Week's Charts
I have been INCREDIBLY BUSY this past week, but I finally got a chance to work in the computer lab today, so I decided to do my charts instead of other stuff.  So let's get on to the comments!

Dirty Vegas are unable to get to the top this week as Jakatta holds the top spot for a fourth week in a row.  It's pretty amazing to be honest that this song has been number one for song long.  It just seems like yesterday it debuted.  Anyway, there are a few challengers to the top in the ways of Tori Amos and Shania Twian, but it wouldn't suprise me if Jakatta was number one for another week.

Six debuts and two reentries this week provide a lot of chart action.  Cher reenters the charts after a year away with The Music's No Good Without You.  Thanks to its being released with A Different Kind Of Love Song, I have gotten into the Almighty Mix.  The song originally debuted on my first chart last year in December at number 15.  This was when the song was a single in the UK.  I really never got into the song and it immediately fell off the charts.  I don't know if it's going to be able to get up to it's number 15 peak, but only time will tell.

Along with the debuts, there is a lot of action both up and down.  A few songs this week make big moves back UP the charts.  Nick Carter shoots up 9 spots to number 11, just missing the top 10.  Röyksopp also move back up 9 spots to number 14.  Kelly Clarkson and David Guetta both move back up 10 spots each to numbers 18 and 19.  The biggest move this week, however, comes from Cyndi Lauper.  As I have finally bought the Shine EP, I have been listening to it a lot.  Therefore the title track shoots back up 19 spots, just missing it's original peak at number 11.

The downside of all of this movement is that some songs had to take the plunge.  A-ha takes a nice leap back 18 spots with Lifelines.  Don't worry about A-ha though, as their next single, Did Anyone Approach You? is sure to debut on next week's charts.  Allison Moyet also moves back 17 spots to number 30.  The biggest plunge of the week belongs to 1 Giant Leap.  They fall back 19 spots to number 31.  (Funny, the biggest leap song and the biggest fall song just switched spots!)

Hopefully, I will be able to stay on task with my charts in the upcoming weeks, but I make no promises!  Until then ...

New On The Charts This Week
09 New Direction S Club Juniors
This is S Club Jr.'s 3rd single, but first to chart for me.  The previous two singles really were far too cheesy to get too far with me, but this one finally got into my head.  I didn't like it at first because I thought it was too unoriginal (the bleeps at the beginning are SOO from Sheryl Crow's Soak Up The Sun).  But after a few listens, it got to me.  This one should do well ... hopefully???

10 Goodbye's (The Saddest Word) Celine Dion
The latest from Celine was OBVIOUSLY produced by Mutt Lange.  Just one listen gives that way.  This easily could have been a Shania Twain or Def Leppard song.  Nonetheless, it's a damn good track and worth checking out!

20 All Out Of Love H & Claire
This too, is H & Claire's 3rd single, but first to chart for me.  DJ was a good song, but just couldn't muster its way onto the charts.  This one is SOOO Step's like (reminds me of One For Sorrow, the best Steps song along with Stomp), it will definitely do well.

21 Vanilla Radio The Wildhearts
This song is a definite rocker song that grabbed me right away.  I don't think most people will like this one, but I think it's definitely worth giving a listen to.

23 The Zephyr Song Red Hot Chili Peppers
I didn't think I liked this one much at first, but it finally struck a chord with me.  Anyway, most people are already charting this one, so if you haven't heard it, go take a listen to it.

34 Take Me With You Cosmos
This track is a nice throwback to 80's synth-pop at it's finest.  If you are in a nostalgic mood, give this former UK top 40 charter a try!
