COMMENTS ON THIS WEEKS CHARTS
Well after having a sort of sleeper week last week, this week has been a VERY busy one.  I finally got off my butt and downloaded a bunch of stuff and am waiting on a CD from a certain unknown person!  (I know, I still have to give you my address, so it's my fault!).  Anyway, the point is that I have a lot of new music to deal with this week, which shows in the seven debuts this week.  Oddly enough the seven songs that fell off were songs 33 to 40 last week.  Now, I didn't plan that to happen, but I just think it's an odd coincidence!

In addition to the seven debuts, there was also a lot of chart movement in both directions this week.  One song that didn't move though is our number one song,
Ghosts by Dirty Vegas.  The song now has the longest consecutive number one run of the year so far at five weeks.  This is mainly due to not a lot of tough competition, but as you see the number two debut this week shows you that it is coming.  I personally think that this is going to be their last week atop, but  I could be wrong.

As I predicted last week, DJ Encore earns this week's biggest mover award, rising 17 spots to number 6 with
Walking In The Sky.  This song actually would have done even better had I done my charts a day earlier, but some new tunes forced it down a bit.  Other songs making big moves this week include the Sugababes, who move up 13 spots to number 11, Amanda Latona, who moves up 15 spots to number 13, and Darius Danesh, who moves up 13 spots to number 14, in addition to a few others.

These big movers do cause a few songs to take backwards moves.  Norah Jones, Duncan Sheik, and even Elvis all still have possibilities to move up next week, so watch out for them.

The backwards movers are headed up by Play, who moves back 15 spots to number 29 with
Us Against The World.  There are also a number of tracks that make 10+ moves down the charts including Lucas Prata, N-Trance, Ben Folds, and Hoobastank.  The main reason for these falls is simply that there is so much great new music out there right now that it is forcing the older stuff down the charts.  Now that's not totally true.  Tiffany only slides two spots in her 14th week with Open My Eyes.  The song is this week's longevity champ after Kylie falls off the charts after 16 weeks.  Alanis and J Lo also have 13 weeks logged on the charts.  Surprising J Lo is still in the top 10, but I'm guessing her time is nearly up as I am starting to tire of this song.
NEW ON THE CHARTS
02 - REMIND ME - Ryksopp
This group is from Norway if i am not mistaken.  This is from their latest album,
Melody AM, which is currently riding high on the British charts.  This is, in the tradition of Ghosts, a very laidback track.  I have really been into 'trancy' music lately, and this one fits in nicely.  This one might have a chance to make it to number one next week, but only time will tell.

21 - FANTASY - Appleton
The Appleton sisters of the now defunct group All Saints, make their debut this week with a VERY catchy number.  This is from their debut album,
Aloud (? - too lazy to go look).  Anyway, this one has a great rock edge to it and should make a move next week.  Go check it out!

31 - OBJECTION (TANGO) - Shakira
Well this one bubbled under for a few weeks, fell off, then came back on and now finally makes it debut this week.  This is the third hit for her this year, following the number 12 hit
Whenever, Wherever and the number 21 (?) hit Underneath Your Clothes.  This one could do pretty well, as I really like the video and it just debuted this week on the Hot 100, but only time will tell (yeah, I use that phrase way too much!)

32 - JAMES DEAN (I WANNA KNOW) - Daniel Beddingfield
I have been trying to download this song for weeks!  I finally got about a two minute clip of it and that was good enough to let it debut.  This one isn't quite as catchy as
Gotta Get Through This (which hit number 2 in April), but is a good song nonetheless.  If I can get a full version of it, it might have a chance to hit the top 10.

34 - GOT TO HAVE YOUR LOVE - Liberty X
Two listens to this song was all it took for it to debut on my chart this week.  This song sounds soooo 80's.  It's great!  The bassline just makes me wanna dance the running man over and over again!  LOL  Anyway, now they have two songs on the charts this week (3 for the year), both of which are moving up.  So look for Liberty X to have a good year this year.

35 - STARRY EYED SUPRISE - Paul Oakenfold Feat. Shifty Shellshock
This is definitely a very cool track.  I finally liked it enough this week to let it debut.  It also hit the top 10 in the UK this week.  Shifty is from Crazytown and his rapping goes very nicely with Paul's synths.  Anyway, go check it out if you haven't already!

39 - I'M GONNA BE ALRIGHT - Jennifer Lopez
Ok, so I have heard this song all summer long, but finally got around to charting it.  That's probably because I have been WAY more interested in
Walking On Sunshine.  Anyway, this one probably won't have that long of a chartlife, but I could be wrong??
