| This week has been pretty boring as far as chart activity goes since I have been without internet most of the week while moving back to campus. Now that I am finally back online, things will be heating up as we come into the end of August and the beginning of September. Dirty Vegas have no problem holding on to the top spot for a fourth week with Ghosts. If the song can remain atop for one more week, it will be the longest consecutive chart run of the year so far. Will it happen? Well as of now, there are really no strong competitors, but that could change when I start downloading stuff later this week. Jennifer Paige is this week's biggest mover, as Stranded moves up 11 spots to number 11. The song has really started to get into my head and I actually like it just as much as the original version I have from the Drive Me Crazy Soundtrack. She might just be on her way to her third top 10 hit (Crush hit the top 10 in 1998, Sober would have been a hit if my charts were active, and These Days hit number one last year). Kosheen is this week's biggest faller, moving back 15 spots to number 38, but the song has had a good chart run of 12 weeks. In fact there are quite a few songs that have surpassed the 10 week mark on my chart, the most amazing being Jennifer Lopez's Walking on Sunshine, which earns a new peak in it's 12 week. The song is doing so well because I don't really listen to it all that much, so it stays fresh in my mind. Kylie racks up her 16th week with Love At First Sight. The song has been on my countdown the entire summer, but probably won't last another 3 weeks to become the longest charting song of the year. |

| 22 - IN THE MORNING - Mary Mary This is Mary Mary's first hit on my charts, but they probably would have had a hit with Shackles (Praise You) if my charts had been active. This is a pretty catchy number and definitely worth the download. 23 - WALKING IN THE SKY - DJ Encore Walking In The Sky is the follow up to DJ Encore's top 10 smash, I See Right Through You. This one is just starting to get into my head, but will definitely be in the top 10 next week. It's a pretty good dance song, so go check it out! 27 - COLOURBLIND - Darius Danesh This guy has a big history with Pop Idol / Popstars in the UK. He came in third place behind Will Young and Gareth Gates, but has also achieved a number one single in the UK. This one didn't sit well with me at first, but now I like it a lot. Definitely worth downloading. 28 - CAN'T TAKE IT BACK - Amanda Latona Amanda used to be a member of the girl group Innosence, who only had one hit with Say No More, which was a pretty catchy song. Now she has moved into solo territory and this is a great way to start. The song was co-written by Meredith Brooks and is pretty decent. 32 - WHY'D YOU LIE TO ME - Anastacia The follow up to her top 15 hit, One Day In Your Life, Why'd You Lie To Me is a pretty fun little number with an accoustic kick. I don't think this will have the power to do as well as her previous hits, but it's a good tune nonetheless. |
