Comments:

With week number five complete, Becky Baeling ties this year's record for longest consecutive chart topping run.  Erasure managed to have six weeks at the top with "Make Me Smile," but it was non-consecutive.  Becky holds herself at number 2 for a fourth week as well.  The entire top four remains steady this week.  Former Take That member (now that I know who he is!) Mark Owen makes a move back into this top 5 this week, holding off Madonna's eventual return to the top 5 with "Hollywood."  I still love this song and heard a great remix of it this week at the clubs that if downloaded could help the song immensely.

Ian Van Dahl have this week's biggest debut, coming in at number 16 with their latest.  Right behind them Shania Twain debuts with her latest European single.  This is the sixth track from "Up!" to chart this year.  Her other hits include "I'm Gonna Getcha Good," "C'est La Vie," "In My Car (I'll Be The Driver)," "Ka-Ching!," and "Forever and For Always."  The title track bubbled under but failed to reach the track.  "Thank You Baby!" is definitely one of my favorite songs from the album and should do very well on my charts.  I still hope she releases "What A Way To Wanna Be."

Other debuts this week come from Jessica Simpson, Kosheen, and Kelly Clarkson.  While I do like "Low," I dont think it will fair too well on my charts because there are other album tracks that I think are better single choices.  I honestly am still not sick of "Miss Independent" either.  This week the track moves back up 15 spots to number 25 to take biggest mover honors.  David Sneddon takes this week's biggest plunge, down 13 to number 32.

Finally after 32 weeks, "Clocks" is off the charts.  This means that Bangles are this week's Longevity Champ with 21 weeks.  There is some stiff competition right behind them, and if they fall off next week, the award woud likely go to Tori Amos/Madonna or possibly Kelly Clarkson.  Only time will tell...

Ok, time's up for now.  That's all for this week ... until next week ....
