Here it is! The Oz Top 40 Countdown for the week ending May 11, 2002

Comments this week are going to have to be VERY short due to the fact that I am moving back home after another WONDERFUL school year draws to a close.  I will make no appologies for my new number one this week.
Juliet by LMNT is a very cheesy song, but dammit I love it!  I don't know what it is, but I just am falling for the song.  It has been in a tight race all week with Marc Anthony, who falls back to number 2 this week.  Another boy band, 3SL, makes a stab for the top by moving up 15 spots to number for with their former UK top 15 hit, Take It Easy.  As for these two pop gems, don't look for long lasting success as these songs will begin to fade pretty soon I'm sure.

Aaliyah makes a big move back up the countdown this week.
More Than A Woman moves back up 21 spots to number 9 this week.  I don't even know why I let this song fall so far, as I have been listening to it a lot this week and just heard there is a dance remix available, so I will be downloading it pretty quick.  This week's highest debut comes from none other than Kylie Minogue, who now joins Darren Hayes and Melanie Thornton in having 3 songs simulatineously charting.  Love At First Sight is the 2nd US/ 3rd UK single from her latest album, Fever.  I honestly have yet to pick this album up yet and I hate to say that this is probably a good thing because otherwise I would have probably been worn out on this song already.

Other key debuts this week (you can scroll up to see ALL of them, I don't have time to talk about them all) come from two groups that are still alive and kicking after 20 years.  Simple Minds returns with their latest single,
Cry.  I am a pretty big SM fan and had tried to download this song a while back, but got a horrible song that was not this.  Once I started listening to this track though, it was catchy immediately.  A-ha also returns with their latest, Forever Not Yours.  This is probably their best single since 2000's masterpiece, Summer Moved On.  I still listen to that song on a daily basis!

Well, that's all for this week folks, check back in next week to see if LMNT can hold on to #1!

Until next week
