| Here it is! The Oz Top 40 Countdown for the week ending May 4, 2002 Well, I was feeling 'Lazy' no more this week (sorry to use a bad pun twice, but I like it!), seeing as the song has fallen from the top after a two week reign at the top. In its place is this weeks highest debut, I've Got You, the second single from Marc Anthony's second english album Mended, due out later this month. The song is just a wonderful pop/dance tune that gets better with each listen, I just need to make sure I don't overkill on the song! There is a LOT of movement on this week's chart, both up and down. First for the up movement. This week's biggest mover is Juliet by LMNT. I still say it's a VERY cheesy pop song, but that's what I like. The song skyrockets up 26 spots to number 11 this week, grabbing Biggest Mover honors. A few other songs make big leaps this week. Moby shoots up 12 spots to number 4 this week with his first top 5 hit, We Are All Made Of Stars. 4 Strings also shoots up 17 spots this week with their chart debut, Take Me Away Into The Night. Songs like this get me thinking of something ... HOW do they come up with such interesting titles to instrumental songs! Now to the downward movment. For the second week in a row Darren Hayes earns Biggest Faller honors, albiet with two different songs. This week, his former number one hit, Insatiable, takes the plunge down 14 to number 21. I wouldn't count this song out yet, but I don't think it will ever regain the glory it once had. Steve Balsamo moves back 13 spots to number 18 with Sugar For The Soul. Also falling back 10 spots each are In Your Eyes by Kylie Minogue and Will I? by Ian Van Dahl. I think the main reason for these big falls isn't that I dramatically like these songs less, just that there is fierce competition between all the songs in the top 20 right now. Two songs reenter this weeks chart. After being gone for a number of weeks, Mary J. Blige reenters the countdown at number 23 with No More Drama. The main reason for this is a lot of exposure (it's right after my number one song on my mp3 player!). Ater number 35, Fat Joe reenters the countdown this week. The main reason for this is hearing it on my local radio station. The remaining debuts this week are Take It Easy by 3SL at number 19, Join Me by Lightforce at number 24, Been Around The World by Tina Novak at number 36, One Step Closer by S Club Juniors at number 37, and Here To Stay by New Order at number 40. Well, that's all for this week folks, check back in next week to see if Marc can hold on to #1! Until next week |
