Comments:

First of all, I want to appologize for not keeping my website updated.  This semester has proven to be a HUGE pain in the butt as far as schoolwork and extra curricular stuff goes, so time has been limitied.  Anyway, over the next few months, I should go back and get all of these past charts updated with comentary.

Pet Shop Boys hold at number one again this week.  At about mid-week, I was sure that this song was going to be number 3 because I was sure that La Bouche and Erasure were going to hold the top two spots.  This week I was on Spring Break in Austria and Rome and while I was there I picked up a few CD's.  I ended up getting Melanie Thornton's album as well as La Bouche's Greatest Hits.  This meant I finally had a copy of "In Your Life."  I do also have a copy of the video as I taped it on Telemundo2 while trying to get an Erasure video.  Anyway, those two factors I thought were going to put La Bouche at number one.  I also got to hear the radio mix and extended mix of Erasure's new single, so I thought that would keep it at number two.

Well, I was right about Erasure!  La Bouche does move up one spot, and push Coldplay back to number 4.  "Clocks" has had a hell of a chart run (1-1-1-1-1-2-2-2-2-2-3-3-4) so far and should prove to be one of the biggest hits on the year.  In fact, a lot of the songs that end in the top 20 for the year will do a LOT better than last year as I am holding on to a lot more songs right now.  Jakatta for instance, takes over the record from Nick Carter for the longest Oz Top 40 chart run by staying on for a 24th week.  I am pretty sure that the song's life is about over, but it did have a little resurgance there a few weeks ago.  I actually almost bought the single when I was in Rome (while dodging all the anti-US marches!).

Nick Carter makes this week's highest debut.  I got his debut CD a few weeks ago, but am finally just listening to it as I type this and I really have to say it's quite good rock/pop.  My favorite songs on the CD are "Help Me," "My Confession," "Who Needs The World," and the song that debuts this week at number 11.  This was released in Europe last year and I somehow didn't find out about it.  "Do I Have To Cry For You" never fully caught on for me, although I do like the song, but "I Got You" really had me right away.  I heard it a few times on my plans to and from Germany (Lufthansa's pop station - that also featured ERASURE!), and really got into it!  This one should easily be Nick's 2nd top 10 hit on my chart.

I do realize that Enya's "May It Be" is quite old (coming from late 2001), but I just discovered the song a few weeks ago.  One of the choirs I was observing was singing it and I really liked it, so I downloaded it.  After tumbling last week, JC Chavez rebounds in a big way this week and moves up 17 spots to take the biggest mover award.  Conversely, Berlin is this week's biggest faller, moving back 21 notches to number 38.

Other debuts this week include "Smashing Pumpkins" re-incarnate Zwan at number 30, The Bangles at number 31 (with their new song that sounds a LOT like Babylon from David Gray .. at lest the beginning of it), the latest from Tori Amos at number 36, the new one from Fleetwood Mac at number 37 (I actually paied 1.49 to download this one.  I honestly think this is how the record companies should start selling music ... already have Madonna's pre-ordered), and finally the latest from the Chilli Pepper's at number 40.

Ok, so these short comments turned into long ones .. that's all for this week folks.  Come back next week as I should have it updated again!  Oh, and green is obviously the new color for March (what a thinker I am!).
