The goal of this course is to present an introduction to children at-risk.  Ed 680 is designed to examine current issues and trends facing today's at-risk populations.  The course examines the educator's role and responsibilities in meeting the needs of students with special needs or are at-risk of failure.  Educational strategies and interventions to meet cognitive, social, emotional and motor needs of at-risk and exceptional children will be examined.  The course is designed for the regular education teacher but will be also useful for the special education teacher.
