I needed another plan.  Security would be here soon, and I would be in deep trouble.  We ran into a nearby room, and a plan began to form in my mind.  I took a chair from the room, and teleported it into a different section of the building.   The guards would trace the transport signal, and assume that we were there.  This might give us a few minutes.  We ran out of the room, and down the hallway.   Looking for guards, we walked down a few other hallways, and Amanda hid inside a room.  She could not come with me, since the guards could easily identify her by appearance.
If I could turn off the building's power, the force field would go down, and we could teleport out.  Turning off the power would not be easy, since the generator would probably be well guarded.  I had an idea as I started getting near the power generator section of the building.  I saw a technician approaching   as I back-palmed a hypo, which I had already loaded with sedative.   I asked him for directions, then thanked him, and introduced myself.  I presented my hand for a handshake, and as he shook it,I used the hypo to knock him unconscious.        Then I dragged him into a nearby room.  I removed his uniform, and used my medscanner to scan his DNA.   I made some adjustments to my medscanner, in order for it to transmit information.  High security locks scan a person's DNA in order to determine whether or not that person has the clearance to enter.  My medscanner should be able to transmit the tech's DNA information, and allow me to enter the generator room.
Things would be easy, now that I was wearing a tech's uniform, and carrying his DNA information.  There was only one guard at the door, so I knew that they had not figured out my plan.   I began to breath easier as I approached, when suddenly, I walked into a force field.  There was a force field surrounding me now.  I was trapped.   Two cyber warriors approached, carrying energy shackles.  A force wall appeared behind them, and the force wall between us vanished.   Getting out of this predicament would be tricky.
Cyber warriors are people who have sacrificed part of their humanity in order to become super warriors.  They have cybernetic implants, including a combat computer, which takes over their body during combat situations.  It is because of this implanted computer that cyber warriors are not as intelligent as regular people in non-combat situations, because it sacrifices part of the brain.
In order to escape, I must use a plan that will avoid activating their combat computers.   As they approached, I pulled a handkerchief from my pocket.  I said, "Well guys, you finally got me, and there is no way that I am going to escape from this one.  I know that you will shackle me, and take me to jail.  I know that I will not be able to entertain for a long time, if ever, so let me entertain you before you shackle me.  Consider it a last request."
I placed the handkerchief over my hand.  As I removed it, a tomato appeared in my hand.   I tossed it into the air, and it landed on my head, as its insides dripped all over my head and shoulders.   The guards stood there laughing, as I placed the handkerchief over my hand again.  This time, I removed it to reveal an energy grenade, which had already been activated.  I dropped the grenade as the guard yelled to deactivate the force field.  The guards ran, and dove for cover, as the grenade lay on the floor, and never exploded.  Meanwhile, I ran to the door, and unlocked and opened it.   I took out a portable smoke device, activated it, and threw it into the generator core.   The smoke would prevent power generation for a few minutes.
I teleported to Amanda, and appeared in the hallway outside her hiding place.  Guards saw me, and approached.  Unfortunately,  my portable teleporter could only transport one person at a time.  I ran into the room, and sent her to a space port.  As I entered, I heard an energy blast, and a scream.  A shot which had been intended for me must have missed, and hit somebody else.  I looked in the hallway, and saw the victim, a Vorellian.   Vorellians had some of the best organizational skills in the galaxy, and were some of the best clerical workers anywhere.  He was obviously a clerk who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.  I could not let him die on my account.    I had to save him, even though it would mean my death.  I approached him, and used my medical equipment.  He was almost dead, but I could save him.  I had never seen a Vorellian before, but I had studied them in school.  Guards stood around me as I worked, but I was too busy to worry about my death.   I was surprised to still be alive when I finished, but my patient stood up, and thanked me for saving his life.
The guards shackled and escorted me.   I knew that I was on my way to jail, and I wondered how Amanda would survive without me.  Hopefully, she would find a way.
After a little walk, I was escorted into a  very fancy office, which was not what I was expecting.    An expensively dressed man entered the room.  He said, "I am Governor Giovanni, and I have been told that you gave my guards a very good chase.  I have also been told that you saved the life of one of my best clerks.   Few doctors, other than Newtonians, have the knowledge to treat alien races.  Where did you learn how to do that?        Are you Newtonian?"
I sat quietly, not wanting to give  information about myself.
He paused, and continued talking, "Ah, the silent type.  You obviously do not like me, but not many people do.  I will give you a good reason to talk to me."
He waved his hand, and a holographic image appeared over his desk.  The image was of Amanda, in the guards' custody.
He continued, "I will give you an opportunity to earn her freedom.  I need a doctor and scientist for a small explorer ship.  Newtonians are the best, and have many additional skills.   If you will take this mission for two months, I will give her freedom, in lieu of your pay for this mission.  She will be treated well while she is here.   What is your choice, her freedom, or her sale?"
I did not see much of a choice.   I agreed to his proposal.
