EPILOGUE The auctioneer yelled, �Going, going, gone! Sold for $20,000.� �The next item in the Arthur Hughes magic auction is PT Selbit�s original sawing box. Bids start at $50,000.� Bidding became furious as Arthur sat in the front row, enjoying himself. He had planned it well. He had pickpocketed the mobsters� guns, and replaced their ammo with blanks. He had explosive, fake blood filled charges in a plate on his back. He also had an explosive, charge in the fake Selbit box, with a lighter fluid container attached. He activated that bomb by remote control. As he ran, he was shot by blanks, but the fake blood charges, which were also activated by remote, convinced everyone that the shots were real. They were too busy extinguishing the fire to check his wounds. Simon Gantz�s timely arrival also helped to divert their attention. Arthur will have a lot of money after this auction, and he can then retire to a Caribbean Island, before the mob discovers that he is alive. He reached into his bag, and felt his disguise. He wanted to make sure that it was there, just in case the mob finds him sooner than he thinks. |
