| UPDATE: It has come to my attention that I am wrong in this case and I have been living a horrible lie, however I am going to keep this article here as fodder for anyone who might want to flame me. | ||||||
| I have found conclusive evidence that Dave Mirra, is in fact, a inconcieveable idiot. According to newsday.com, Dave Mirra is suing Acclaim, and apparently for roughly 60% of all sueable offenses in the United States. Dave Mirra was originally intended to be in the game BMX XXX, but he pulled out when he found out that "the game's concept had been changed from what was initally decided on". To better understand this highly frivolous lawsuit, you need to look at what exactly Dave Mirra is suing for: 1. Breach of contract: I can halfway understand this one. Although Dave agreed to be in the game, and knew it was an adult game. Although he said he thought it would have adult content like the movie "Airplane". Yeah. He actully expects someone to believe that. Even if it is true, why would a company make a BMX video game targeted towards adults? Acclaim could've made a game about black gay Jewish midgets that like skydiving with a broader demographic than that. He said that the concept had been changed from what was originally planned. I don't think this is true. In fact, I'm 99% sure it isn't. 2. Unfair competition: Now, wait a minute: unfair competition? I could've sworn that there was a partnership between Dave Mirra and Acclaim. Even after he pulled out of BMX XXX, I can't image there being any competition between the two. But wait, it keeps making less and sense, even than this! 3. Injury to reputation: This is the only one I can agree with. I wouldn't want to be associated with a shitty game like BMX XXX either. 4. False advertising: Apparently I didn't see the BMX XXX print ad that said "Featuring Dave Mirra!". You know why? Because IT DOESN'T EXIST! 5. Invasion of privacy: I'm guessing Acclaim broke into his house begging for him to appear in the game or something, I can't think of any other exlpanation. Needless to say, there's not much fact behind this lawsuit, just a bunch of vauge accusations. Now, don't get me wrong, I hate Acclaim as much as anybody else, but I really hope this lawsuit fails. Hey, Dave, you know what's more damaging to your reputation than being associated with a game about whores on bikes? This lawsuit. Thanks to this, I now see Dave Mirra as an ignorant, money-grubbing whiny pussy. |
