Considered as the Metal God, Rob Halford is probably the band most popular member. His voice is incredible, reaching 1610 Hz in 1975 ! Is nickname "Metal God" has been first heard in the Painkiller Era; A Journalist gave the name "the metal god with the golden scream" ( "Rob has like — I've counted them — something like sixteen different voices, man." - Roy Z, guitarist for Halford's Solo ). ( "It was kind of bestowed upon me by all the metal fans that have supported me over the years. It's a cool nickname to have." -Rob Halford ).

Rob Halford Favorite albums from Priest are : Sad Wings Of Destiny, British Steel, Screaming for Vengeance and Painkiller. Also, the song "Turbo" is a great driving song. It was written in regard to the twin turbos in Porsches, 'Heading Out to the Highway,' 'Freewheel Burning,' 'Hell Bent For Leather,' and other great Priest songs were kind of inspired by getting behind the wheel, said Rob Halford. à

"I used to work in a clothing store and a porno shop. I was also a stage lighting engineer." - Rob Halford

In 1997, Halford removed his gay stereotype by officially saying that he was indeed gay. "The great thing is that the fans who support me are intelligent and rational and understand that this is a sexuality issue, It has absolutely nothing to do with the music. I'm removing the stereotype. There are gay and lesbian people in all walks of life, in all different types of professions. I just happen to be a gay man who sings in a heavy metal band." - Rob Halford
